LATE EMAIL!!!!
I joined the ten club for the 'fantastic' benefits I was told I was getting. Mainly, the right to purchase tickets before the general public. However it seems this isn't the case. Checking my emails yesterday, I was shocked to see a Toronto show added.(hometown). This email arrived at 3:14 pm. Yup, that's right. The ten club told me about the show AFTER it was already sold out to ten club members.
Thanks for the benefits. And ya, the email I sent to the ten club has and never will be replied to concerning this.
Thanks ten club.

yesterday was a bit of a clusterfuck with regards to the onsale....if you weren't on this board you wouldn't have known about the shows....hopefully 10c will rectify this situation before the next shows are announced
I'm in the same boat. Pissed at 10Club over this because I can't afford to go to 5+ shows every tour. This would be the only one I could attend. And getting tickets is really the only reason anyone joins. I will still renew but really hope this does not happen again!

just my 2 cents...,
luckily I have time to hang out on the board at work so I know what's going on
Oh come on, now we're rewarding the people who have more time to waste? We're all paying 20 bucks a year, and we all are in the same fan club. If 10C wants to roll this way, then why don't we add benefits for total time logged into the message board? Or worse yet bonus points for post total. For a show to sell out before it's announced to all members... or at least given AT LEAST a 24 hour window to check themselves, it's disgraceful. Not everyone has the time to piss around here and it has nothing to do with "being more devoted" or not.

I truly wish you had got tickets, but it is not a "right" of membership.

I sympathize with you OP, but saying these sold out by 3:15pm is wrong. I checked in last evening around 7 or 8pm and tickets were still available. You had time...
I do feel for you. When I got home yesterday, I saw that the email came at 3:04pm (several hours late), and i'm in the same timezone as you, and I know that around noon time, the announcement and the pre-sale occured simultaenously. that's why I bitched one up yesterday, which was out of character for me, but as someone stated, yesterday was a "clusterfuck".
First PJ Show: March 20, 1994 | Ann Arbor | Crisler Arena
I agree with the first part...sorry friend. Regarding "but"...it may not be a "right" but ALL members deserve a chance and yesterday was a 10C mess. I got my Chi Town tix ONLY because they sold out so slowly (stll a mystery to me) and my late email thankfully wasn't TOO late under the circumstances.
My guess is this won't happen again, but that doesn't help you. Hopefully more chances come your way!
although we got rumours here about a toronto show on the board a few weeks ago - it's impossible to know when the tickets will go on sale ... i feel bad for everyone as i basically just lucked out in checking in and seeing a tweet ... it also helps to have friends on this board - i've been given a heads up on a tweet before as i'm not on the board all the time and those are greatly appreciated ...
it's doubly agonizing because by announcing only 2 shows - you will get a lot of people traveling to see them thus making 10C tickets even more scarce ... my only words of consolation is that i would suspect come concert time - there will be a plethora of 10C tickets made available and to be on this board when that does happen ...
Agreed, but I like others could not be on the board yesterday and I don't think the "tweet" led us to beleive the tickets would go on sale to members the DAY OF the announcement or that it would be limited to two cities.
Lets hope this does not happen again.
Sorry you didn't get tickets but try on Thursday. Edge 102 is having a pre-sale, just sign up for The Inside Edge and you will get the password.
thanks 10c
Historically, it has never been easy to obtain Pearl Jam tickets through the TEN CLUB or anywhere else. They certainly is a popular little band...and I don't ever recall the TEN CLUB promising that your $20.00 membership fee guarantees you a seat at the table for what ever show tickles your fancy. Keep in mind that your membership only gives you a chance to get tickets...which is still better than the folks that will be fighting to the death over lawn seats on Thursday and Friday when these tickets go on sale to the general public.
In reality, there is a large volume of us in this fan club, and when you add to the fact that at the moment there are only 2 announced "non festival" North American dates this year, you're talking about alot of folks vying for the same small piece of Pearl Jam pie.
It truly sucks that you didn't get the e-mail warning of these shows. But you may want to make it a practice to drop by the Message Pit (or whatever this thing is called now) every once in a while and get some top secret scoop.
I find that 9 times out of 10 people on here tend to be privy to tour, album, and product information long before the TEN CLUB announces, farts, or Tweets the announcement out to the e-mails and media.
Anywayss...Sorry about your luck...Good Luck...And Hopefully we'll see you out there.
there is no excuse
But besides being posted here at pearljam.com in the NEWS section, on the boards, and in an email, it was posted on Facebook, Myspace, and Twitter well before anything sold out. They can't pick up a phone and call each member individually, especially not for a mere $20 a year.
But then again, NO EXCUSE FOR THAT CRASH STILL HAPPENING
Where I'm not ugly and you're lookin' at me
it's 2009 and 10c's computing skills are stuck in 1998
and yet i was easily delivered my "you were not selected" email for the nashvile show a couple of days earlier...
hmmmmmmm.....
this has happened before...unless i am mis-remembering....almost as if the person sending the emails is left out of the loop on purpose.....
