Do you think they will come east of Austin? I've heard 'west coast and south' mentioned before by I think Mike or Jeff, but noticed Rubysdad made no mention of the South. What to do regarding CHI??????

    I sure hope so, I mean excluding SC and FL, nashville, atlanta, birmingham, louisville, new orleans haven't had a show in 6 years, I think we are due

    Ed said in an interview earlier this year that no 2010 touring because someone in the band was having a baby...so sorry no tour :-(

    true, but i think they will do a small US tour to support the new record. i can't imagine them having a new record out & not playing some shows, especially the larger markets (NYC, Boston, LA, etc). if that means that they don't tour until summer 2010, then so be it.

    im pretty sure they are going to play more shows.......they just need to give the festivals some time to sell more tickets......thats all......

    They've toured with kids before. Don't see why this would be any different. I think Ed is yanking your chain.

    Not to say what is or will happen in 2010, but at least a couple members have said no US in 2010 and that the fall mini-run would coincide with the new album due in Sept.-ish. They seem to have laid it out pretty straight.

    I'm pretty sure they will be doing the West and the South in Fall 09. There have been numerous threads over the last few months citing interviews, both formal and not, where members have stated such. There is a pretty big gap of dates between the two festivals and obviously a couple of months after ACL. With a new album and the apparent inability to tour too much in '10, common sense would say there has to be more shows on the way not just a couple of shows on the west coast.

    I am so broke, I was sort of relieved when Tim made the post that seemed to say there would only be shows out West this year. But if they do announce an Atlanta show, I'll probably find some way to go.

    I caught both shows in Birmingham 98 and 03. The one in 03 stands out in my mind because I became a dad for the first time about a week later. Was really a great time in my life. Thanks to PJ and fans for being like extended family.

    It is a shame that they have not made it down south more. I don't really blame them. They can only reach out to so many fans and I am sure that they want to reach out to as many as possible. The south is not the most populated fan base I would think.

    So I don't blame them. We do have some strongly dedicated, adamant fans though.

    And one other thing that I have never mentioned about the Birmingham show of 03; fans booed the band at the end of the show. I think it was a cultural thing that caused it. PJ acted like they were going to do one more song (they had just finished with their standard last song, Yellow Ledbetter). Matt counted off on the high-hat cymbal like they were going to start another song but they played one note and ran off stage. The only crowd acknowledgment was them waving as they left out quickly. It was an abrupt halt to a great show.

    Bottom line with southerners, you say good-bye. We are kind of proper. I don't think PJ really ever says good-bye to anyone because they always think that they will see us all again anyway. Just my opinion.

    I hope the band didn't feel slighted. They put on a heck of a show and Mike was in really rare form. The solo during Alive is burned in my brain. It went on for 4 or 5 minutes. He was inspiring. Ed had a cold too. It was a very cold, damp night. One of those where you don't feel warm for several days (it was outdoors).

    So I would really like to see them hit Birmingham. Will it happen? Who knows? I don't really hit concerts anymore. I'm about the same age as most of the band but I will come out for them.

    Ya ...I can't see them releasing a new album and not touring. They don't make much off record sales. Touring is where the $ is.
