a "oldie" of mine that i've been re-working lately.

i am wandering--outside and in
lost all track of time, no time to explain
day has come to pass
into twilight's eye, i walk

see the moonlight, it's lighting my way
the stars spin away from their pull

it never ceases to amaze me
cars drive idly past
disregard their surroundings as an everyday occurrence

and i am here
my hour of peace has come
i'm blocking out all sounds
this is what i live for
the beauty in simplicity
it guides me on

wander past me quickly
reach out and in
read my mind
dance into the night..

commuters start their trek as i walk towards home, towards you.
my sleeping angel. quite a night you missed, dear.
