Eddie's name not on t-shirts/posters at Seeger show

I went to the show tonight - it was amazing, btw - and noticed that Eddie's name wasn't on the shirts or posters. Is it just me or does that seem odd? Seems to me that the shirts and posters would have been printed up well before the 1st when 10c announded Eddie wouldn't be there. So do you think they have known for awhile and didn't say anything? Or did they really print all those up in the last 2 days?

    That's definitely strange. I think the chance they printed EVERYTHING up in the last 2 days is about 1 out of 1 billion.

    is he the only person on there without his name on the shirt? maybe there are other people missing and you didn't notice because you're a pj fan?

    (not accusing you or anyone else of anything, it's the psychology student in me that needs to know :D)

    Weirdest show I have ever been to - I did enjoy Ben Harper, Dave Matthews & Bruuuuuce.

    Maybe he wasn't confirmed yet when they did the shirts?

    I was so tempted to get tix for this after missing out on david lynch, but didn't end up doing it based on $$ (need to save up for ed solo)

    can you guys post yr reviews please (even without ev, i'm sure it was great)

    I've worked in the printing business also and late changes were typical. I see this as a late printing change and the printers probably had to bust their ass getting everything printed on time, because I've been in that situation before.

    I noticed the same thing. I bought the brown shirt and was very suprised to see Ed was not listed. Def. not a three day correctable error to get his name off ten thousand T-shirts, posters, brochures, slide show etc.

    Beside sitting next to an old couple that smelled like a combination of a musty basement and bad dog breath, the show was quite touching.
    I was very suprised that even the 'big' names only did one song each. Tom Morello was out there on guitar supporting/singing with about 3 other acts but Bruce told a few stories, commenting on Pete's life long stance on racial equality, humanitarian and environmental issues, then comparing him to a grandpa but one that could kick your ass.
    He sang his Tom Joad, (Not spelled right)
    Dave Matthews did a beautiful rendition of Rye Wiskey, with awsome high vocals that were so convincing.
    It was a pretty mellow evening, the show ended by 9:30, (all those grey hairs had to get to bed before midnight or they'd turn into mothballs) with lots of sing alongs and a real patriotic feel.
    Best of all Pete looked like he was really enjoying being honored in such a fantastic way. So powerful to do someting like this when the honoree is still alive, well, and kicking (ass).

    my guess... and just a guess... is that Ed pulled out for some reason that they don't want to say (difference? health? etc...) and maybe Ed decided to pay himself to remove his name and do it as a rush. Printing takes at a minimum a few weeks. ...just give us the truth, ed.

    The irony of your screen name and this quote was too funny not to mention.....

    I was there, too and I was literally freaked out being in a pack of geezers that big! Getting into MSG was a serious clusterbang with all their stopping, looking around aimlessly, then moving forward a few steps before repeating. I hope I'm still going to shows at their age but I hope I remember how to breeze through to my seat while doing it! ;)

    I really enjoyed the show, but more importantly, I took my dad and he had a blast....loved every song!! I did tell him that this was the first show I ever saw people with walkers at. I must have been one of the few that didn't know EV wasn't gonna be there, so the whole time I was like he'll be coming soon, but then Bruce came out and I was like uh oh....something is not right here.

    Just "a little" dissapointed about EV's Nothingman performance ;) ....but all in all, a great show!!

    I thought the show was great and I decided to go after EV announced he was out. It was a really fitting tribute to Seeger and his patriotism and activism. And he rocked out for 90, playing the banjo and leading a sing along to Amazing Grace! It was damn impressive. It was a completely different vibe than most shows I see - esp PJ - very mellow crowd, and, yes, old, but the music was pretty mellow and most of the performers were definitely senior citizens, so the crowd didn't surprise me. I thought Joan Baez and Richie Havens were amazing, as well as Bruce, Dave Matthews and Ben Harper. It was an eclectic bunch of people singing really folksy, cool music. Eddie would have fit right in, sadly.

    A friend who was with me commented that maybe Eddie didn't show up because they accidentally left his name off the show materials, but I just don't think that is possible.

    The truth is he probably pulled out because of working on an album or a family vacation. No big deal, but def doesn't smell like a last minute change

    This is probably the reason he backed out. They probably misprinted and he said fuck it because his name wasn't on the items :lol:
