You think so? I was thinking about the '06 shows... was it my imagination, or did those last for weeks?
I wasn't around for the 06 sales, but my guess would be that because this is likely the only show east of chicago, and since 06 was a world tour, there's gonna be a helluva lot more out of towners this time around.

Good point. Maybe this "announce a show at the same time as putting it on sale at the same time" thing is a blessing in disguise.. I'll only be competing with those here on the pit, as I'll be refreshing nearly constantly between twelve and one!

exactly- I'm assuming this tour will be a lot like the 08 tour- MUCH smaller than the 06 tour. Smaller tour = a lot more out of towners

They're exactly right...
They gave at least a weekend's advance notice to EVERY 10C member via email, however, in '06. Here, we've just got a cryptic tweet on a forum - which probably represents a miniscule percentage of the full Ten Club - in a recession. Not to mention the fact that, if the Europe tour is any indication, tickets will be on sale the exact moment emails go out to let everyone know tomorrow.

That was my first thought. Then again, I am SHOCKED at the fact that tickets for all 4 Euro shows were still available this afternoon...

And I'd say by having such a small Europe tour, they've probably lost a lot of the North American market, as there's definitely less value in traveling to Europe for four shows than for, say, ten or eleven.

10c should add this ticket distribution policy on the next tour.
All 10c members in the event city should get first dibs on tickets and have a lottery for the rest.
just my 2 cents so all people in the event city get a chance to get better seats. I hate it when PJ rolls into town and everyone in the front row is from the US.

That'd be great, but I see that you're from Mississauga, and I'd consider that part of Toronto - would 10C? Maybe do it so everyone in the event state/province get first dibs. But you're right - that does make sense.

That is a TERRIBLE idea, for a number of reasons.
The way the 10C did it for Europe was well done and I applaud them for that. Limited # of shows in an area, so give people in ALL OF EUROPE first crack at those. I assume that Toronto and Chicago tickets will be open to anyone in Canada or the US, as they should, and to others after that.

Toronto venues, dont have the same ticketmaster restrictions, in terms of the number of fan club tickets that has to be reserved. so everyone should be able to get tickets.

I've heard this before, as well, but I don't know if it was iron-clad fact or mere conjecture...but whatever: in 2006, both Toronto shows were still available long after everything else was sold. I guess we'll see what happens tomorrow. I've got a meeting in central Alberta at 10 MST, so I'm hoping whatever happens, happens before I have to leave Calgary.

i think the "in your seat" at the end of the new tweet was a hint, just a hunch though.
