I am interested to hear how people expect a "Canadian Tour" to fit in to their schedule. Don't get me wrong, I would love to see it, I just don't see it happening. The only possibility I see, as someone mentioned before, is if they play some shows in Canada BEFORE Europe, and the Toronto show after Europe.

But if the London show is on Aug 18, they need at least a couple of travel days.

Toronto is most likely Aug 21.

Chicago looks to be on Aug 23.

San Fran is on Aug 28.

    ACL is October 4.

And we know that the band plans on playing the south and west coast according to very recent interviews. If an actual "tour" of Canada was planned, you'd think that we would have heard that in one of the interviews too.

I hope I am wrong, but all I see is a Toronto show.

I think its because the Bob and Doug Mackenzie reference is a general Canadian reference rather than a Toronto specific one for most people.
Although they did say BOB Mackenzie who is played by Rick Moranis who is from Toronto...so it can be argued that it is a Toronto specific reference. Only people who know where Rick Moranis is from would know that though. I'm just excited for a Toronto date!!! Anything else is just gravy for me. :)

Hmm ... looks like you might have just figured out that what we all thought was a general Canada reference was a Toronto specific reference after all...

    This is true...could be.
Think I should start a new thread to end all the speculation? :P

The dates would be announced tomorrow and tickets go on sale later in the week right.

I doubt it's a 'Canadian tour', but more of a bunch of Canadian dates thrown in with a U.S. tour.

In my opinion, it wouldn't make sense for them to do a 2005-style tour. Toronto, Calgary, Vancover, Montreal & Ottawa mixed with U.S. dates.

I doubt we'll see Montreal or Ottawa based solely on scheduling.

However, I do agree with your point about Vancouver being involved in a west coast swing, and possibly Calkgary too!

What's they're scheduling looking like? I just threw out the top Canadian cities in terms of market size and population, basically ignoring the reasoning or logistics behind playing the cities other than size. I've been busy with finals and haven't been up to date on rumors and such.

Well thats ok, we all know Toronto is the centre of the universe and the only part of Canada that matters! Flame away westerners and east coasters! :)
