Just listened to "the Experiment" and Penn State '03 in the same night, and for me Penn State was better. The acoustic set was awesome, and they played some rarities, but Corin Tucker royally fucked up Fortunate Son and RITFW. Penn State was much tighter w/ same caliber setlist. Ah, there all pretty fuckin' good. It's awesome that Hartford got some love after everyone said it was gonna suck.

Acoustic set aside, the July 2 show is the best of the Mansfield '03 trio in my book ... that show kicked some serious arse.

I just got a copy of Penn State..... there are sooooooooo many flubs, it really killed the idea that it was an epic show. long but missing the quality...kindalike Gorge 05

You get my vote for worst thread ever.

Who cares which is better? You know, it is possible to own and enjoy both shows.

Penn State/State College was an awesome show. Yes there were alot of flubs and screwups and someone who wasn't there may not "get" when listening to the bootlegs why the show is so talked about.

But I was there that night and I can't myself explain the magic that was witnessed.

I guess there was just this vibe that night that the show was going to be special. The crowd was so energetic and the interaction between audience and band was really something to behold.

I guess you had to be there to fully understand.

I'd say 7/3 was the best set. The band was hot esp. the encores. The fans were rabid.

    The acoustic set stands alone.

I was at both and i think its obvious that the experiment is one of the best shows ever. that being said the Hartford show was really good and the tempo of the show was just insane. felt like i was getting punched in the face repeatedly.

That is the one complaint I have about state college
epic setlist, but not the best performance

buffalo, the night before state college, was better IMO. that show kicked serious ass

also, i wasn't at "experiment" but have listened to the boots...it's awesome.

i was at hartford, and that was the best show I've ever seen. had to be around my 20th show overall

can't wait for EV in boston

the acoustic set is the only thing that puts it above. that set is just incredible. still though, that hartford show was amazing .. no need to compare ..

and i looked at the other 03 mansfield setlists, and if it werent for the acoustic set it would be reaaally close for the best one.
