Ok, I may be totally off-base with this, but in my local paper today, in the obituary section, it said Francis Zipprich, who drove tour buses for rock bands like Pearl Jam, died at the age of 53. Here is the article.

http://www.silive.com/obituaries/advanc ... xml&coll=1

I'm not completely sure, but was this "Dirty Frank?" :(

Even if he wasn't, he is still apart of the Pearl Jam family, so my prayers go out to him anyway. Sorry if this was posted, but I didn't see it anywhere. Does anyone know if this was him?

    Most likely.

I'm sure Ed and the rest of the band will attend his funeral.

Maybe. But the funeral is on the 4th in Staten Island, so no reason to cancel a gig at the Garden the night before. Maybe they are attending the wake?

If you're going to check it out because you think Eddie or anyone else from the band is going to be there, then yeah, that's pretty wrong. :?

But to pay respects to the man, then it'd be nice to do.

Decided that showing up would be way too creepy/obsessive. I didn't know D. Frank - I had no idea that he was from Staten Island actually. I'm sad that he died at such a young age though. My sympathies to his family. I read the obit and he sounded like a family oriented guy.

Mr. Francis was a driver until 1992. That's way early in PJ's career. Dirty Frank may or may not have been written about him... (rumors are prob true and it was)... still, that was a long time ago! I don't see any PJ member going to the wake or funeral. They might send flowers, donate or send a card...

The man drove a bus as his job. He probably didn't even like PJ. Most bar tenders don't drink alcohol...

Wasn't 'Dirty Frank' a cannibal... like Jeffrey Dahmer?
Or, at least, a horrible cook that made dinners that tasted like it was eating people.

How so? Dirty Frank was written real early in their career and Dirty Frank was their bus driver on one of their first tours.

I honestly don't think the boys will be goin to any funeral. Maybe, I suppose, it just seems like there would be a lot of revolving crew members and even though they wrote a song about him(if it's the same guy) it was kinduva jab at him. They thought he was crazy.

Exactly, dont go to get a glimpse of the band....sound even more like a loon and go to a funeral of a man your favorite band wrote a song about back in 91......... either way, it's a moral dilemma.
