  • In my view, Islam is the enemy. A huge part of their people want to kill us and enslave the "infidels". Obama's policies remind me more of nazism than bush.

dude..you are Joseph Goebbels wet dream x 1000!!!! you swallow the propaganda hook line & sinker...you are a puppet on a string...and FYI..Obama & Bush are controlled by the same people!!

'No More' is a song about Tomas Young, the 23 year old veteran that was paralyzed in Iraq only to return home and face the horrors of the way America treats her War Veterans.
Last I heard, Tomas and his family were still struggling to get the fucking government deal with his life after wartime.
This is typical... no one wants to hear about the shameful way this ungrateful nation treats its war veterans. A yellow ribbon magnet on the tailgate on an SUV or wearing a fucking red shirt to work on Fridays isn't doing a goddamn thing other than making fuckheads feel like they support their troops.
Yeah... let's forget about Tomas and the thousands like him. We just want to hear our favorite songs and not be bothered with HIS problems, right?

I can't believe you fall for that bullshit. The CIA formed al qaeda. That's hilarious. I'm sure moveon.org could use you as someone to come up with their radical conspiracy theories.
    ...
You might want to review your history books.
The CIA trained the Mujahadin in the Hit And Run tactics in Afghanistan in the 1980s, after the Soviet Union invaded that country. The Mujahadin had a great young 'Freedom Fighter' from Saudi Arabia named, Usama bin Laden.
After the Soviet withdrawal from 'Their Viet Nam', the Mujahadin sought assistance from the Pakistani Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI, their CIA equivilent) to set up a fundamentalist regime in Afghanistan... later known as the Taliban government. America didn't do anything to prevent this from happening and simply abandoned the effort. The Mujahadin morphed into seperate factions, one of them being 'The Base' (a.k.a. al Qaeda).
The great irony here is al Qaeda uses the same Hit And Run tactics on American convoys, just as their predessors did against Soviet columns. And billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars have been funneled into Pakistan from 2002 to 2008... a nation that already HAS nuclear capabilities and the ones who set up Afghanistan to host terrorist trainning camps.
And anyone that uses the excuse, 'The Enemy of my Enemy is my Friend' is a fucking asshole. They are still your enemy if they hate you as much as they hate the ones they are fighting. but, they will gladly take your money and weapons if you are stupid enough to give it to them.
    ...
Don't take my word for it... look it up yourself. If you do not go to the library... Google 'Afghanistan Pakistan Taliban ISI Mujahadin al Qaeda' and see for yourself.

I think there´s the chance of hearing "No way" again on the 09 tour.
    right?

don't get it twisted...Obama is a douche too..he just lies & speaks better than Bush

and last time i checked we still had soldiers dying in the middle east...so "no more" is still relevant...we'll see if Ed has "gone too sleep" and the wool has stayed over his eyes.

This is all true. The way I see it, if you care about country at all, you have to treat your relationship with it as you would with a close relative. This means being brutally honest with it when it's really messing up, which I believe we've been doing for quite sometime. But we're not dealing with an alcohol / drug / gambling etc... addiction here, we're dealing with a power addiction-- one that has only made the people of this country less safe. The example you mention above is classic. In our attempts to stave off the "red scare" in the 80's, we ended up training and arming our enemies of the 2000's. This unnecessary interventionism rarely yields short term positive results, while the long-term consequences are almost always disastrous.

nathanastin, wiretapping yours and everyone else's phone isn't helping. It's hurting. If this is really being done, it is shifting focus away from the FEW people that we are trying to find-- We're trying to find a needle in a haystack, and by spying on the entire American population, we are creating a HAYFIELD in which we now have to find the needle. And we're paying WAY too much to do it. Wiretapping is permissible with a warrant, issuing a warrant on someone requires probable cause, therefore it only makes sense to investigate the people who need to be investigated-- it narrows the search quite a bit, and maybe then we can get rid of the WASTEFUL Department of Homeland Security.

    Back on topic...

It will be interesting to see if Ed plays "No War." Maybe he will change the lyrics from "NOOO MOOOORE WAAAARRR" to "NOOOOO MOOOOOORE OVERSEAS-CONTINGENCY-PLAN!"

I think this tour will bring us both "No Way" and "Brother." :)

    That's a nice post.

However, this thread is about "No Way." Not "No More."

    But thanks for playing ;)
