got my tix...booked my hotel today..Ed, Albany..here i come baby!! :D:mrgreen::mrgreen::D

when i saw Ed at the Opera house last summer i figured that would be the only 2 Ed solo shows i ever saw :cry:

but then he's back.. :D:D:D fuck the 3 hour drive..it's well worth it!

I'm telling you all right now..don't listen to the assholes..if you have never seen an Ed solo show do whatever you can to get to one!...so what the tix are more $ than a PJ show..that's because the venues only hold 2500 instead of 25000!! it's such an intimate, special time!! Arc alone is worth the ticket price! and Liam is a bad mofo!! I'm telling you! go see him...or one day you'll be kicking yourself in the ass in regret!!

    I couldn't agree more! I'm driving 8 hrs to Baltimore and could care less! I love a good road trip to see someone perform great music. If anyone needs a ride from Ohio, speak up!

    going to spend a few days in baltimore, explore the city - get to see ed solo (my 2nd time, i saw him in NYC2 last year, my hubby's first time) - and just have a great time!

    i too strongly seeing ed solo, at least once if you can. such a different, and worthwhile, musical experience.

    ABSOLUTELY! I saw Ed twice in Boston last year and both shows blew me away. Ill be at both Albany shows too!!!

    PJP, u got all your hotel stuff worked out? I was trying to coordinate a group rate at the Hampton, but so far only 2 official takers. Not quite enough. If interested PM me... even if you have a res somewhere, we can put you down... if we get a good rate you can cancel your res if you didn't have to pay already.

    HOTEL UPDATE:

    For anyone waiting to see what kind of deal I could strike up with the Hampton... the answer is... NONE. They came back with a group rate of $199!!!! Basically, my thoughts were confirmed in that they're a business traveler's hotel and they're usually booked Mon-Thurs. (that's why someone said they had a sweet rate of like $79 or something on the Sunday night, that place is a ghost town on the weekends). The lady told me they're almost sold out anyway for that week (thus almost no incentive to give a discount)... I wonder how many people booked already, but for the same purpose (i.e., EV show)? Woulda been cool to be more organized on this one. Oh well.

    I'll try to get a message out directly to the people that PM'd me.

    We could try doing the same with the Holiday Inn Express or someplace else. HI Express is $122 online now, and you could easily take a taxi to and from the venue for both nights, and still come out ahead of the hampton or the crown plaza. Another friendly reminder that I would not walk from the Palace to the HI Express past 12 or 1 am, alone. In a group of 3 or more would be fine (i would think).

    There's plenty of other hotels ~4-6 miles away for much less money.
