  • Just picked up my allocation....

So much of it out there this year.  All the variants were still available at a local grocery store yesterday.  Had the Prop the other night and really liked it....can't go wrong with coconut in a BA stout.  30 year and Barleywine seem to be getting great reviews.
We sold out of everything but the regular Stout and the coffee.
People don't  need to work hard to get these anymore.
If In/Bev isn't careful BCBS will become ubiquitous and sit for months on shelves because no one will care anymore.
Because of their ridiculous prices last year I didn't buy any of it.   First time ever.  Multiple beers were over $75.  I think I paid that much for the Rare 7 years ago.

This year the prices were better but still sucked.  I paid $55 for the 30th.
  • The Bigfoot was a gift from my local. I asked him about this a few months ago and hooked me up w it. Only 24 bottles reached longisland and I have one.

i've had Prop twice.  I may have got a bottle from you one year too I think.

Always looking for a bottle of prop!  It truly was a thing of beauty.

BCBS variant prices are no longer justified.  The regular price is.  Way too many breweries that have dialed in the barrel-aged stout game to be paying double the price.  There are multiple local breweries putting out equally good product at ~$15 for 16 ounces.  Goose Island is $25-$40 for the same amount of beer.  I'm talking variants only; not their base beer which is a good value at $12-$13 imo.  I've been bringing all the older bottles sitting in my basement to parties just to get them opened and gone.  Not acquiring anything new aside from their regular or if there is a "must have" variant, but nothing fits in that category for me this year.  I'll just sample them in 5 oz pours at a local bar if anything.  I did open a 2 Year Reserve from 2019 the other night and I will say, that beer would still be worth the price.  It was one of the best I've had.

I have that one too.  I traded it from someone on here...  Was so stoked to get that one.  I should drink that one soon.

There are other companies doing nice beer things but not as good.  KBS comes close IMO.  Those are expensive 12oz too.  They go for $14 each or so.

Haven't been drinking for almost a month due to finally getting covid. This is just some of what is backing up on my sample shelf.

not really “craft,” but an upgrade over my usual PBR. I cut down this tree for my neighbor and got 4 12 packs. The devastator is very strong and kind of nasty but it’ll get drank.

Been ages since I posted here but figured I’d share this on Super Bowl Sunday. Nice nod to the ‘85 bears. Cheers all 🍻

Wasatch is an AWESOME beer!  Utah's finest and yes, that is a craft beer.  I'm stoked to see someone else actually drinking that!  I had that 10 years or so ago when I was traveling.  :oved it!
