Yo guys I think I may be legit allergic to IPAs now!  Been drinking them for years but now I feel sick and I break out in hives whenever I drink one.  I feel fine after lagers and stouts.
I hope this never happens to me.  That really sucks.
If you told me a year ago this would happen to me, I would have been devastated.  But with all the BS going on in the world I've learned to just roll with the punches lol.

It helps I like other types of beer and that I love bourbon/rye whiskey and those have no effect on me at all.
No doubt.  In the grand scheme of things, there are far worse things than being allergic to IPAs.  As an avid fan of IPA though, I certainly hope it doesn't happen to me.  I'm about ready for stout season anyway.  Nothing like a good stout on a Fall football Sunday.

Wow---I've never heard of that happening. Is it one beer (or IPA style) in particular or all IPA's in general?
IPAs in general.  It started gradually and has been getting worse and worse.  It's pretty wild.  Fortunately, I've tried so many damn IPAs over the years that I don't feel like I'm missing much.  I could get away with having like one at a time so I do every once in a while.
Are you drinking West Coast Style or New England (Juicy/Hazy)? It could be you've developed an allergy to the the flocking agents. Or the oil in the preeminent hops.

Take a claritan before and you will be good to go.
I'm already taking allergy pills every day!

I mean isn't lactose what makes a NEIPA a NEIPA? Or at least anything "hazy"? Any dairy allergies for you?

Lactose does not need to be in a NE or hazy.  I have no dairy issues.

I would try a West Coast and see what happens.
The flocking agents are usually wheat, oats, or corn.
Also it could be the yeast as the NEIPAs use a specific kind of yeast to add to the haziness.

IPAs give me a hell of a buzz and sometimes a sick head the next day….but I drink ‘em anyways.
