very true. there is no excuse for that. he spent 6 minutes texting??? what the hell?

Every single time I have to blow my horn at a driver, I end up afterwards seeing they are on their cell phone. I never blew my horn in the past, until this damn cell phone thing.
It seems people get into the conversation and will be driving 30 MPH in a 50 MPH, then they will realize what they are doing and speed up for awhile, only to slow down again when they get back into the conversation.
yesterday, a guy pulled out from a side street right in front of me, while looking backwards, the other way, guess what, he was on his cell phone. I had to go off the road to avaoid hitting him. The street I was on was a country road and the speed limit was 50 MPH!!! He just pulled out onto it while looking behind him??? He had a nice truck too!
I make faces at people on cell phones who are driving stupid all the time. Does anyone remember the day when phones were at home or only in buildings and pay phones, etc? I do, and we got along without them just fine.

I totally agree with you. Just two days ago in the building where I work the Secret Service had just dropped off the Director of Homeland security and I guess they were headed back to their headquarters. When a couple in a SUV and on the phone drifted over into the SS lane. Just as I was about to say that's SS they flashed ALL their lights (they travel in pairs) and missed each other by inches. They scolded the couple and told they them loudly to get off the phone it's illegal in DC.

I was guilty of this at one time till I got one of those ear piece things to be safe and to avoid that $100 fine. The cellphone thing has gotten way out of hand.
