Lyric Question....
hey all,
First a little background:
I'm writing a paper about how the east coast had started using decommissioned subway cars for artificial reefs. Needless to say this endeavor completely blurs the line between what officials are touting as a great "sustainable reuse" project and simple ocean dumping. My concluding point is that this is going to end up an inevitable "Tragedy of the Commons" in which a few benefit from the reduced costs of not having to recycle the cars while the majority suffer from the implications of the cars falling apart prematurely(the project has been suspended bc of this occuring already)and the unanticipated consequences of fish eating the residual hazardous materials left on the cars.
And so......as a huge pearl jam fan & knowing how passionate the band is about the environment, what lines can you guys think of from songs that sum up that sentiment....that we are making poor decisions now that will affect future generations but economic factors are being put ahead of the moral responsibility to society as a whole? I know theres a ton...but i'm in the middle of finals week & my brain is fried, but i always like to slip a little pj in things i put together.....there's always a stick man or some other pj reference in my presentations that MAYBE one person gets, but i like to do it! Sorry for the long post & thanks for any ideas!

This land is mine, this land is free
I'll do what I want but irresponsibly
Green Disease:
And like weeds,.. with big leaves
Stealing light from what's beneath
Where they have more,...
Still they take more
1\2 Full:
Climbing on a mountain
Floating out on the sea
Far from lights of a city
The elements they speak to me...
Whispering that life
Existed long before greed...
Do it
this land is free
i don't i want yeah irresponsibly.

I also like the quote of "those ignorant Indians got nothin' on me, nothin"....
(And I mean that in a non-racist way...like the message Ed's conveying)
