i will not enter the facility in West Palm Beach until I am assured the opening act is completed.
There's Pearl Jam, The Rolling Stones, Chuck Berry, Robert Johnson......and then everybody else.
  • I had to do a double take when I saw them listed as openers in the email.

Hope you guys enjoy that. I'll be looking forward to Kings of Leon.

Kings of Leon and better tickets is more than enough reason to skip the MSG show and go to a southern show.

    Let me spell this out

    Southern Show
    Pros

    -Beaches
    -Kings of Leon -
    -Outdoors during the summer
    -awesome seats
-no hassle trying to get seats
    -cheaper hotels
    -cheaper airfare

    Cons

    -Maybe a shorter set list
    - not in a historic venue

I actually haven't heard Leo, but I usually hate opening acts and get to antsy for the real deal

They are good, but they can get a little tired. They have a sound that if you're into, they're good, but it'd definitely a distinct sound that not everyone is into.

I'd see them live, but I wouldn't try real hard. :)

I seen them in 2006 (and maybe Lollapalooza?).....didnt do it for me. My musical tastes are typically rock bands that are heavily rooted in blues (Rolling Stones, Black Crowes, The Who for example)..most newer bands just don't do it for me....For whatever reason, when I was in high school and my buddy brought over his Ten CD...as soon as I heard the opening chords to Once, I was hooked.....this has only happened to me with two bands (Jumping Jack Flash with the stones and Once with PJ).

Ergo, I am making this trip a business trip and will entertain clients a bit later than normal as I have no trouble missing KOL

The lead singer's voice kind of reminds me of Bon Scott, the old AC/DC singer.

Indeed, Pearl Jam is NOT the only band on the planet.

Shake the sheets is great as well, I think I'm more partial to hearts of oak because it was the album that got me into their music.
  • i was extremely dissapointed when i found out KOL was the opener for the columbia show. their music bores me to no end. saw them once a long time ago and didn't care for them at all.

now ted leo. aside from his music being fantastic and his live show damn awesome. he is one of the smartest and most intelligent musicians around right now.

I've never been disappointed for a PJ opener ... Sonic Youth, Sleater Kinney, Buzzcocks ... list goes on and on ....

Last year when I went to Germany, I actually had no clue who the opener was ... then, on the way to the show, someone mentioned it was the Futureheads ... I freaked ... fucking love those guys .... sadly I think I was the only one there who did.

Ted's from dirty Jersey like myself. I occasionally visit his message board. There fans were busting on PJ for being.... try not to laugh....a Stone Temple Pilots rip-off! I didn't get mad, just told them to check out Yield or No Code and get an education.
    90 shows and counting...some of my favs: Randall's Island night 2, Milwaukee '95 night 2, Hawaii '06, St Johns '05, PJ20!

actually, I think the lucky folks in London got *BOTH* Interpol and the Futureheads!

News and Tributes has some great tunes ... Favours for Favours is my favorite Futureheads song.

    EDIT .... - http://i174.photobucket.com/albums/w89/jgreco_14/PJOutdoorMunichPoster.jpg

Thank you for renewing my hope that there are many PJ fans that appreciate bands that have started up after the year 2000.

i've seen the futureheads..four times i think..and one of the best shows i've ever been to was interpol at the warfield (in san francisco) when they were touring for antics.

hah. i figured there were some more like me on the board. i've been a fan of pearl jam since ten (i think i was 9 at the time) thanks to my brother. however, as much as i love them i don't listen to them all the time like some people here. i love bands that span from the futureheads and interpol to harder punk bands like the bronx and the catheters. there's just so much music out there i don't understand being totally obsessed with one band (even though pearl jam are my favorite).
