So a college campus is probably one of the best vehicles for protests and giant concerts and other things PJ related, so I figured why not poll everyone on the boards: Where do you go to college?
If you're not in college, feel free to share your Alma mater as well as any ridiculous stories you may have :P

I'm starting this thread because next year I'm going to be a Freshman at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Worcester, MA

I kinda miss university....the social aspect of it.
We had a bar and would often play pool and drink beer in between lectures/tutorials hehe 8-)
Can't believe it's been almost 3 years since I finished!

Life is all downhill after college. On my vacation this past weekend I visited the campuses of UW-Madison and U of Minnesota... gorgeous women wearing little to no clothing everywhere, people stumbling round drunk and partying all day... it doesn't get any better than that. Alas, I'm now bored and old.

I went to Ohio State for my undergrad degree and now I'm at Northwestern (Chicago) for grad school.

    True man, true.
Once you start working full time especially!
I think university is the last moment of your youth, once you finish it's all over and you're a full time working adult!

I went to Florida State University.... GO NOLES!

We were the #1 party school pretty much the entire time I was there. One party I went to had so many people there that a helicopter broke it up with a spotlight. Fun times.

Yeah, I went to a few parties like that, though the helicopter spotlight didn't break up anything. We just ignored it. What we didn't ignore was the mounted police riding into people's lawns spraying rubber bullets and tear gas... now THAT is a party ;)

i went to the university of central florida...best time ever :D we may not have a huge party school reputation...but we're working on it! i can't believe how much we've grown since i was a freshman...from nothing to the 5th largest university in the country (and the most gorgeous, imo)!! go knights!!!

i'm so sad that i'm going to miss football season this year...not because we're a good team by any means...but for the tailgating :D

Its sad to think that people look at there college years as the "best time of their life". I could party in Europe for a year and then get my degree in a modest state school and still have half the debt of one of the "big" party schools. I also love how much experience and worldly knowledge everyone gets by going to school, just so they can protest about something they have no clue about or bitch on The Moving Train. There is also an elitist mentality with some people who go to the bigger schools, but that all comes crashing down when they land the same paying job as Joe Blow from East Bumble Fuck Univ.

There is more to life then four years of parting....like getting your moneys worth for education, and actual life experience, not protesting about a war you have no clue about and beer pong.

I graduated from the University of Texas -- go Longhorns !! My craziest party moment was stumbling backwards (drunk of course) and falling through a two story window and landing on the ground not really knowing what had just happened. Only injury was a few stitches on my leg. Boy was I drunk that night.

Good to hear it, money well spent on your part. I have two friends that went to big name schools, and thats all they hang on to is their college years. One has a hard time making ends meet, and the other works in the rat race of sales. Their isn't anything wrong with going to a big name school, but college is a small part of one's life, not their defining moment.

I don't want to talk about it. :(

Well, that's probably just because I'm a college senior at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire with two quizzes and two tests still looming before finals week - and no time to study for them on top of my volunteer and work obligations this week.

(Don't feel too bad for me.. I AM at the library... so maybe if I got off the message pit I could study better...haha)

Who said anything about it being defining? I said it was fun... which you'd understand if you had relaxed enough to enjoy it. People can go to a no-name school and amount to nothing just as easily. And some of us (like me) even managed to go to a big name school, party my ass off, AND get good grades. Fancy that!

Uhh...30 year old male prof with the power to decide if you graduate (I teach two 'capstone' courses to 70 students in all) could be used to support poor judgement, but, as a happily married man, I do not. Just to let everyone know, however, there exists NO RULE about sleeping with your students. I remember that being a big argument when I went to school. Thus to reiterate, you can have sex with your professors.

It's a mean joke that I use on my wife when we fight that I will always be surrounded by 18-22 year old girls that hang on my every word. You should think about it. Really though, you have to be poor for 6-8 years of grad school and get a job that will never pay you really well, but 9 month contracts, free summers, and getting to think about things that you want to think about is awesome.

I'm just about done with my JD sadly. Maybe I'll go back later for a PhD in something, then head the professor route. I definitely don't have the law school credentials to ever get hired as a professor at one ;)
