Need help with defending PJ's honor on another forum

So I'm a member of a wrestling message board for an underground company (yeah I like wrestling, whatever). The message board of the site has a misc. discussion section, and there's a section on upcoming punk music. Anyway some things are mentioned and somehow somebody says something about Nirvana or Kurt Cobain sucking. Then another guy says, "what do you mean by that? at least back it up. for example, i hate pearl jam because eddie vedder was nothing more than an attention whore for the spotlight."

Now, I want to reply to that with reasons why he is wrong, but I don't exactly know what to say about it. I know that what he said is not true, but I don't know how to word it that he's very wrong. I feel like if I say something it won't be construed correctly. So I figure some people here can help. I want to reply with actual points, not stupid things like some people will say. So if anyone can help me crush this guy (who I actually know a little bit, not too well but I see him at these wrestling shows every couple of months and we kind of just say our hellos and that's about it. But on this message board he can be a little bit of a dick.)

    Don't take it that seriously? And if you must, just say that Pearl Jam was always a band who were trying to destroy their own fame - because they were.

    Hmmm, kinda scary one.

    First, I must ask if this is real wrestling, such as collegiate or high school, freestyle, folkstyle, greco.

    Which leaves me two opinions...

    If it is a Wraslin' forum, you're on your own buddy. I have had conversations with co-workers who love that shit and I dont think they have the mental capacity to appreciate the finer things in life such as Pearl Jam or even full priced beer! You really might want to go above and beyond the scope of their critical thinking and tell them something that would astound and mystify... maybe something like the Hulkster actually listens to Pearl Jam while jackin his ass full of roids.

    The other opinion has to deal with real wrestlers, and any of them worth their salt would know listening to Pearl Jam while running around in a garbage bag sweat suit makes for some fond memories.

    Just remember that everyone is entitled to their opinion. You probably aren't going to change his mind no matter what you write. There are millions of people out there who share that opinion. Personally, I don't care how many people hate Eddie or PJ, I know I love em and no one's going to change my opinion.

    I use to do this....other boards and fight. DMB, Meatallica, Nirvana but it was useless they have there opinions we have ours. Make love not war.
    FYI wrestling is fake. So now you know its fake....all you are really watching is a bunch of guys drenched in oil, touching each other in speedos. :)

    Wow, what a douchebag-like opinion.

    No dumber to watch fake wrestling than ANYTHING else on tv. It's all fake or slanted in some way. The only value of any television is how entertaining it is.
