    Beware if you buy on on ebay- there was someone on there a few months ago selling a ton of fakes

    Hi,
    i have this record for sale - comes from my own collection. Mint condition - the plastic sleeve isnt mint - there are 3 tears at the edge ofthe plastic sleeve, otherwise everything is fine.
    If you need some pics, let me know.

    I bought a fake copy on ebay, well, my girlfriend did for me. beware, ask questions first. a lot of people who got fakes were able to get their money back from paypal, for me though, I wasn't so lucky.

    Aren't the so-called "fakes" or bootlegs made by the same company? Specifically with this record and the Soldier field, that the new ones may NOT be counterfeits, but repressed by the same company?

    The soldier field vinyl is supposed to be limited to 500 or something like that, but the company that made/distributed the record back in 95' started selling them as brand new since last year or so? Is this an OK thing to do?

    I've heard the same for the BBall vinyl, its not fake, the company just decided to make more.

    So what would be good questions to ask of the seller? Every once in a while there are basketball vinyl's on e-bay. How many are in circulation? I'm looking to buy one for my collection, I just want to make sure I get an original.

    I saw one of these dirt cheap on ebay the other day. Probably the repress/fake ones, but the differences are hard to tell so if you just want it to have thats not a bad route. If you want it for the collectibility, that's going to be tougher now that there are so many fakes flying around.

    I was under the impression that none of these were made with permission regardless, so i consider even the "old" ones to be "bootlegs" or fakes as well. That didnt stop me from buying one for my collection though. Still, a very cool piece of memorabilia. I remember seeing these sell for hundreds a little while back

    Correct? Even the so-called originals of these were manufactured unauthorized?
