and help out in any other way i can.
    you can email me at

I've got a recording from when Ed took a tape recorder from someone in the front row and started talking into it during a Mike solo at the end of YL. I don't know what show it's from. It sounds like he says Detroit after he gives back the recorder (it's pre 2000 for sure).

    Here's the quote:

"hi. this is uh Eddie Vedder. it's the end of this show and uh... he was front row so I hope it turned out good. anyways uh, this snail comes up... uh... I was going to tell a joke about a snail but I'm just going to go. Michael's finishing up here, there's no time for a joke. Whoever hears this uh... have a good life. I'm tryin.

I've always wanted to know how the joke ends!

One day this man walks out of his house to go to work. He sees this snail on his porch. So he picks it up and chucks it over his roof, into the back yard. Snail bounces off a rock, cracks its shell all to shit, and lands in the grass. Snail lies there dying. But it doesn't die. It eats some grass. Slowly heals. Grows a new shell. And after a while it can crawl again. One day the snail up and heads back to the front of the house. Finally, after a year, the little guy crawls back on the porch.

Right then, the man walks out to go to work and sees this snail again. So he says to it, 'What the fuck's your problem?'

(It's the only joke I've ever heard about a snail.)

Ok maybe this doesnt belong in here but......I wanted to start a thread THANKING the people that tape and record shows. Without them, NONE of us would be able to watch bootleg dvds and youtube footage of our favorite shows! Its alot of work to just texxxt the setlist to someone so i imagine it being WAY more work to film! HOWEVER, I would like to also ask/comment/suggest that whoever is doing this "filming".......can you PLEASE zoom out and get The Master in there???!!!! Imean, Ed is the singer yes. But, what about all the magic that happens between The Masters fingers and the guitar during PORCH or ALIVE or BREATH or IMMORTALITY!!!!!! We need to see this! And what about all the Jeff jumps that are not caught on camera????? My friend Yeild2pearljam is thee ultimate jeff fan and i know she KNOWS all the jumps but its nice to see them. Seriously, there is something to be said about SEEING The Master just loving life while on stage. Like the super exxxtra crazy licks he threw down on black in 2006. I am not AT ALL complaining. I give major snaps to these great people that have the skill to tape a show. Just a small request to PLEASE ZOOM OUT SO WE CAN SEE THE FULL BAND!!!!!!!!!! :D It is also a great feeling to see yourself in the crowd at the hawaii show......thank you!

i remember hearing the MP3 of the brief "joke" Ed was about to speak into this recorder (image below), you could tell he was clearly enjoying the fact a fan was front row with a plain ol' recorder in hand, despite the availability of bootlegs, which would explain why he felt the urge to grab the recorder and speak a few words into it :)

    Rock on Andrew, Beautiful. Bravo.

Everyone up front annoys me, mainly due to me being envious and with middle of the pack 10c number I am usually on the wings. I would like to get row 1 center stage just once, then I can die in peace.
