Pearl Jam's Twitter = lame

Really...what's the point of having one if no one from the band is going to bother using the account. Chris Cornell and Trent Reznor to name a few are doing what fans want....communicating with them, updating them (sure, some too many times a day), but still, it's an actual interaction with fans and keeping them involved.


Yea, PJ is playing the Outside Lands Music festival, ok great, but how many different sites under the "Official Pearl Jam" name do I have to read the generic announcement of it.

At least fake it on twitter...

    but i see your point - but still - why "fake" connecting with fans with all this stuff on twitter, myspace, iLike, facebook - as if they're trying to be "connected"

    but it's just not working - i'd rather them not have any of these accounts if that's the case.

    Look, I'm on Trent Reznor's twitter and it's totally not fair to compare him to the PJ twitter. They are two different animals. Trent is the geekiest of the geeks when it comes to technology and communication, he's permanently parked in Nerdville :geek: x100, and I love him for that. But Pearl Jam ain't like that, and that's cool. If you want PJ information, you have to have your hands in several pots. That's just the way it is.

    My avatar is James Franco from Pineapple Express. I love that movie. The movie was very Pearl Jammyish I might add.

    Anyhoo, I didn't mean to imply that PJ were cavemen to the internet, I strongly believe they poke their asses in here very often, VERY, :twisted: ... but they just aren't as sociable and interactive with fans on the net like say, Sir Reznor. :P

    The only thing I got out of the title of this thread is "Twitter is lame" I can't wait for the VH1 show 3 yrs from now reflecting on how lame Twitter was....

    I don't usually get so irritated by posts like this ... and strangely enough ... this is one of the least significant ... but have we seriously hit the low mark of complaining about PJ's Twitter activity?? Why would anyone care about this?! Twitter?! Really? .... sigh ... :roll:

    I'm generally against mindless whining, but I think the OP has a good point here.

    If you are going to do something then at least make a nominal effort. Don't just sign up for every new fad under the sun and then mail in any effort to use it.

    Why even bother.

    A band that has trouble communicating opening up multiple means to communicate only to either ignore these methods of communication all together or else treat it like a minor annoyance with forced input.

    Sounds like a take off of the definition of insanity.

    As long as Jamie Oliver lets me know what's cooking in his kitchen every hour or so, I don't mind some tweets from my favorite band letting me know what's cooking in their studio! 8-)

    It's nothing but an orgy of self gratifying dribble geared to the egos of self important slant heads like Britany Spears and Justin Timberlake who think that people actually give a flying rat's shit what they're doing at this very moment The only Tweet worthy of noting is when these celebrity chumps decide to finally do the world a favor and fuck off.
