Coachella

Just got back last night (we had to stop at the Morongo Casino for gambling/lunch buffet, and then the outlet stores on the way home!)
The Morrissey/Macca combo on Friday night was amazing.
Saturday's highlights included Band of Horses, Fleet Foxes, Calexico, Turbo Negro and Henry Rollins (his spoken word shows are now like motivational speeches...the crowd really responded very well).
Sunday was a bit uncomfortable because of the weather, but there were some great performances....Murder City Devils, X, Paul Weller, Gaslight Anthem, MBV (loudest band ever!), Throbbing Gristle (very much an acquirred taste) and Public Enemy, who made the crowd go wild (they played opposite MBV and the Cure).
Sheppard Fairey DJ'd early on Sunday, and played some fun stuff...I thought he'd draw a bigger crowd because of the notoriety he received over his Obama artwork.
Cool sightings:
Mike Patton and Brad Wilk (watching Rollins)
Kevin Haskins (Bauhaus/Love & Rockets)...he was all over the place
Jerry Harrison of The Talking Heads (backstage after Perry Farrell's Satellite Party)
Jeff Lynne of ELO (Backstage during Dhani Harrison's band's set)
Leib Schreiber
Chuck D. (Public Enemy) - I don't get too excited about meeting band members, but this was way cool!
