Our government is the potent, the omnipresent teacher. For good or for ill, it teaches the whole people by its example. Crime is contagious. If the government becomes a law-breaker, it breeds contempt for law; it invites every man to become a law unto himself; it invites anarchy. - Louis Brandeis
her chomsky interview is really good.
Which one? Have you got a link?
I think this is it.

Aryan Nation calls North Idaho their "world headquarters".
what the fuck. pick fucking alabama or some shit, get the fuck out of here.
Thanks. :geek:
and no offense to your home state, but what an illustrious world headquarters it is!
they'll storm the world with their potatoes!!! do they have potato cannons up there?? we better watch out!!
i'm embarrassed to say that i missed it. yeah i failed.
my bro met her, said she was very nice and wonderful and it was a great experience. they talked about the Daily Show and why she's never been on it and Howard Zinn and other things. eh, if she was here a few hours later i would have been able to go. just couldn't make it happen...shitty because my day was clear as of yesterday afternoon. but he got her book, got it signed. not all bad.
still, great she came to town, usually pretty quiet up here. our claim to fame is that sarah palin was born here, so whatever we can do to distance ourselves from that is all good in my book.
the NSA handed out a secret memo to librarians, they couldn't tell anybody about it, not even their families. it was basically telling them to spy on americans, to get info about their reading habits.
3 individuals decided that was bullshit and posted the document online.
that's what her book is about, is heroes. people that took risks like this to let people know what is going on in this country.
also there's a firm in Spokane, which is about an hour from here. they taught soldiers how to deal with the psychological stress of being tortured, which entails telling them exactly how to torture. the methods were the very ones used in the infamous Abu Ghraib photos. the firm later came and was very upset that the methods they thought they were teaching soldiers to deal with were actually methods used against enemies. which all sounds eerily similar to the School of Americas and how they dealt with south america.
because no one else cares in parts of the country that matter
so, why hasn't she been on the daily show??
what are you but my reflection? who am i to judge or strike you down?
"I will promise you this, that if we have not gotten our troops out by the time I am president, it is the first thing I will do. I will get our troops home. We will bring an end to this war. You can take that to the bank." - Barack Obama
when you told me 'if you can't beat 'em, join 'em'
i was thinkin 'death before dishonor'
but
maybe
if enough people request her to be on her http://www.thedailyshow.com/index.jhtml -it might happen.
you have to register to the forums and its kind of hard to find, but there's a suggestion topic somewhere in there.
It's time to get back home to DC.
Peace

Its not really a book, I was kind of surprised when I saw it, its more of a pamphlet. Just a few short stories about modern day heroes.
Still worth picking up imo.
