pj at Alpine Valley 9-18-09 and u2 in chicago 9-19-09

Someone reported that a source has Pearl Jam playing at Alpine Valley on September 18th... and u2 is playing Chicago on September 19th and 20th. These two locations are very close (some feel Alpine Valley is a Chicago show but its a Wisconsin show!) and could lead to another Pearl jam/u2 collaberation? It happened in Toronto some four years ago? could it happen again?

I would rather have two nights of Pearl Jam at Alpine Valley (18th and 19th) then PJ jumping on stage in soldiers field but you never know?
Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.

    And I heard a strong rumor that Pearl Jam will be opening up for U2 for a few dates as well. So it would make sense. Just a rumor. ;)

    u2 is actually playing 9/12 and 9/13 in chicago.

    although a collab would be sweet, i dont see it happening in chitown unless PJ plays chicago before the 18th

    In my many years on this board I have learned 2 things:

    1) If there is a music festival announced ANYWHERE in the world (Cuba, Guam, People's Republic of China, Alabama County Municipal State Fair) someone has a rumor that Pearl Jam is playing there.

    2) If Pearl Jam or Ed have a show anywhere with 100 miles of another artists show the day before or after their show, questions/speculation arise as to if Eddie or the band will show up. Without fail.

    Who is "someone" and who is that someone's "source"??? I call BS because of a recent email I recieved from Alpine Valley basically saying all of their shows for 2009 are announced.

    Are you sure it wasn't on a different board? I just did a search on here and came up with no one posting anyhting about a pj show at alpine on that specific date.

    Not saying you are right or wrong, or that I believe the PJ rumors to be true, but you may want to read the email again or something. I used to work in a Live Nation operated amphitheater which PJ and many other big artists have played before, and I find it hard to believe they will not announce anymore shows after Mid-April. I do think most big summer venues attempt to announce the bulk of their shows at once, and in the spring, so they can start promoting and selling tickets, but there are almost always shows added as the spring and summer go along.
    words seem so out of place.

    It's not happening!!!! No PJ at Alpine this year! All of the shows for 2009 have been announced and there are currently no more shows in the works!
