no way its your fault.
if a girl is hangin out and her drink is low i will offer her to get her a new one. its that simple.
i've never sent a person a drink. i think thats weird.0 -
If a women told me I have to buy her a drink I would let her enjoy the rest of her night without me...
In my book, it's an ultimate red flag if girls go out expecting men to buy them every drink. I know girls who don't even bring money! They know that douchebags will buy them drinks all night. They have no intention of ever seeing these guys again.
Don't get me wrong...
If I'm having a conversation with a group of girls and I need another drink I will ask them if they need anything. I just don't use the "Can I buy you a drink" line.

But the girl I actually bought the drink for wan't asking me too. It was her bitch of a friend. When she asked me "Where's my drink?" I responded "At the Bar".Sydney 11/02/2003

an excellent response that the bitchy friend deserved.
when you had the chance alone during her interrogation, you should have told her to drop dead.
and I don't think you did anything wrong. I do not expect a guy to buy me a drink. If he offers, I do not instantly think he's interested. I consider it polite. I'd return the favor.believe it or not, we don't "need" anything. that is only the spoiled brat in us trying to fill some temporary solution to an emptyness that does not exist.

Well apparently pjgarden said she would buy me a drink, so that's at least a start in the right direction!

Yeh, but according to your story she was sitting there with an EMPTY glass while her friend did the 'I'll sort the drinks out' bit.pjfan31 wrote:stickfig13 wrote:Oxxys wrote:I think we should just solve this problem....ladies should buy guys drinks.......Any takers

Anyway, this situation is even not just about the opposite sex... I've been brought up with the rounds system. If I'm chatting to somebody and we're having a conversation, if I'm going to the bar I offer them a drink whether they're male or female. It's just polite and it's a way of saying to someone 'you're cool, I'm buying you a drink so you can chat to me for longer'. Usually they return the favour... if they don't then ya start the judging

The girl I was talking to never asked for a drink. Yes she had an empty glass. We were having a good conversation about our lives, studying work etc. When her friend put the 'hard word on me' the girl was obviously disturbed with her friends behaviour. In the little communication we have had since the event she has apologised profusely. I have no doubt in my mind that she wasn't a part of her friends little plan.
Are you suggesting that they were both in on the 'drink scam' cause that wasn't my read on it. Their situation was they used to work with each other and this was the first time they had seen each other in 3 years. From what the girl said to me, I don't think their friendship will last the test of time.Sydney 11/02/2003

If my friend did that, I'd tell her to shut up... I wouldn't just sit there while she was talking 'on my behalf'.pjfan31 wrote:

It's possible that they WERE both in on it... but I wasn't there so it could well be what you were saying. But why didn't she either say 'shut up' or go get her own drink while this was going on. If I had an empty glass and my friend was telling someone to buy me a drink I would asy 'I don't want one right now' (not likely lol) or I'd go get it myself if I was uncomfortable with the situation... I wouldn't just wait there uncomfortably to see how it pans out. You bought her the drink in the end, didn't you?The Astoria??? Orgazmic!

Yes I did buy her a drink. She did say "He doesn't need to buy me a drink' My read on it is that they weren't in on it together. Still doesn't excuse the friends behaviour.
I don't know why I am defending her, I have decided I'm not going to pursue her any further. What a waste of $8Sydney 11/02/2003

Her: Okay, but whats the extra $0.25 for
Me: For the text message. You now owe me $8.50 biatch.
