Pearl Jam Gives Update on Album, Tour, and Film

Pearl Jam will play an undetermined number of live dates in the U.S. later this year, reports Billboard.com. Thus far, an appearance at the Outside Lands Festival in San Francisco (Aug. 28-30) has been confirmed, and it’s widely expected that the band will be a headliner at this year’s Austin City Limits Music Festival (Oct. 2-4) in Austin, Texas. An announcement of headlining acts for the Austin event will be made on April 28, with the Dave Matthews Band, the Beastie Boys and Kings of Leon expected to share that status with Pearl Jam.
Additionally, in a radio interview broadcast late last month on Seattle’s “Ron & Don Show,” guitarist Mike McCready said Pearl Jam has completed 14 songs for its forthcoming album. The album, Pearl Jam’s ninth studio disc, is being produced by Brendan O’Brien and is expected to be released by year’s end. McCready went on to say the group is also working on a film with longtime friend and movie director Cameron Crowe.
"We're building up to our big 20th anniversary," McCready said. "We're trying to have a little campaign of building rereleases with new mixes and new outtakes up until that time. We're trying to do a movie with Cameron Crowe with all of our existing footage."
