I saw this on USA Today, and I had to pass it along. I'm not one who really watches talent shows but damn if this is not impressive. It's such a shame that Susan Boyle had to wait until she was 47 to come out of her shell but she just made millions of people stand up and take notice. This video was posted only 4 days ago, and it already has over 7 million views.

If you watch it, I think you will be impressed too.

That was brilliant. I had tears in my eyes watching and listening to her  :D

Ya gotta love those Brit judges though . . . basically telling her that no one thought she could sing, or was rooting for her, because she wasn't attractive or young enough

oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

    That was brilliant!

The ironic thing is though that if and when she becomes famous, they'll give her the makeover of the century  - its always about the image as well........

I saw this when they aired it on tv and I was one of the people who was pretty much expecting her to be shite, so I was pleasantly surprised when she sang so beautifully :)

The only thing that gets me is that she said that she's never been kissed or had a boyfriend or anything, but in the last couple of seconds of the clip you see her wearing a wedding ring ;)

What a voice. It is as suprising as that guy Helen pointed out in her post. And yes, the show is about image more than talent. I hope she gets picked up to sing by someone though. I don't think she has the image, but I cried listening to her sing. What a lady.

Really! Since when does how you look determine how well you sing?

I only heard about this lady today .......... and I live about 20 miles from her village  .......... but I never watch talent shows .......I heard about her at work ............. a few months ago my colleague went to see an amatuer musical in a local West Lothian community hall .......... the next day all she spoke about was a women who sang in the musical and that she had the most incredible voice she had ever heard ............ she then told me today that she discovered that it was Susan that had been singing that night ........... I explained that I didn't know who she was ........... so when I linked on just now I was stunned ......... absolutely beautiful ............. it sickens me at people's reactions though ........... the women at 1:23 and 1:34 show such contempt and judgemental disgust ....shame on them .... I hope they cringe when they look back at that ............ Susan is clearly a diamond inside and out ............ Thanks for posting

Yes, she's got quite a voice.

That's not what I was implying  :) That was what I interpreted from the judges remarks and the shots of the audience. As stargirl09 said, there were audience shots of people looking contemptuous and disdainful.

So i was reading an article about an interview Suan Boyle did with Larry King.....

When she was questioned about her soon to be "fame and fortune"..........

    She responded....

"I dont know about all that, but i know i wont be lonely anymore"

I hope Susan Boyle has a great fucking ride............
I wish her nothing but the best.........

    And damn....

    THAT LADY CAN SING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
