shit has Orwellian inspiration all over it and it's even more appropriate now than when he/they wrote it!
"In my mind there's a clearing..rose skies flow through grey skies...in no certain way...and i'm trying...I'm flying"
love that shit!

Are the vocals on the redux newly recorded? Or are they old vocals that weren't used on the original?
Also, the redux one left out some vocals like in the beginning when ed says "you should be happy with what we give you" and then some other lyrics. and it leaves out at the end w hen he screams "brother!"
New version just aint as intense it doesnt do it for me.

the other day I played it for my brother-in-law (who usually puts down PJ..this coming from a Motley Crue fan), and he's like oh man that's good, who's that? I started laughing and told him it was PJ. he was taken back. then I told him the reason he probably likes it is it's from Ten era. he said "oh I used to have Ten, yeah I remember that song."
~this is what you call classic dumbass people who stopped listening to PJ after Ten~
I played it for my brother, but told him it was new PJ. He was impressed and asked why dont they play like that more often.
I enjoy the second version of the leaked series.
One of my favorite songs (Check out my marker or whatever ist called).
If Im listing to it with headphones I get goosebumps. Need better headphones!
edit--guess they got rid of the marker?

Anyone else hearing this all over their radio? Quite a few Philly stations had it on rotation last month, but it's starting to fade out now :(
but rock n roll will live forever! - ray davies
I wish they released the original version. It did hit number one though. But that isnt too hard to do with the music out there now.
IMO, starting with Who You Are, they have released a couple bad singles. Who You Are and Nothing As It Seems were terrible choices for an album's first release & impression. They are not bad songs, but I believe they were not radio friendly and never gave the album momentum to get any kinda commercial success they could have had. Some say they did this on purpose. That may be true, but if you werent a Pearl Jam fan or if you were just a casual fan when those songs were released, there was a good chance you didnt give those albums a chance (sucks for those people).
Im sure some people will say I am wrong, but I obviously know this is not true for everybody. It is simply my opinion. I just feel strong about this because I wish they didnt do this. Especially when I hear idiots say, "Pearl Jam, I didint know they made another album after Vitalogy." Also, this may be a reason why you do not hear fucking shit on the radio except for songs from, you guessed it, Ten, VS & Vitalogy.
Pearl Jam has SO MANY great songs that they deserve their OWN FM radio station, like AOL Radio.

Yeah it is one of their most kick ass songs ever.
This eats all the other versions for breakfast:

Anyone got this version on mp3 that they could kindly send to me?
You can fucking say that again!
They are all great...I'm a guitar player and sometimes it's fun just to jam with the instrumental version!
Excellent question. The same question I asked with the Lost Dogs versions of Wash, DF, Alone, and Brother.
Thanks for sending me the song, you know who you are
