Me too Sawyer, totally pumped. Used to go to the Tower for a bunch of shows about 10 years ago when I was in college, going to be cool to be back there.

Not really anywhere right around the venue, but probably about 30 blocks down in University City (U Penn and Drexel). Also, full bar inside the venue, but CRAZY expensive. You might be better of sneaking in a flask or two.
Yes The Tower does serve beer. As far as a place to drink goes if you are standing at the front entrace to the Tower there is a alley/ side street on the left hand side. If you go half way down the block there is a bar called the Waterford Inn 30 seconds from the front door of the Tower!!!. Sells good beer and cheap food. This is where I always go before a show at the Tower. I got Philly 1 tickets and this is where I'm going to be before the show. Pm me with any questions. Yostarama

Any suggestions on a hotel? I have stayed at the hilton garden inn on arch a bunch of times and like it. i know its not close, but is it close to the train to get to tower? I know very little about philly except the stadium complex, the troc, the TLA, and the electric factory

Congrats Philly winners
anybody with an extra to either night 1 or 2 I am interested and jealous of your good fortune
PM me if you need a fellow jammer to see the man perform.
Yeah, there's a couple good spots around the tower... if you wanna buy crack! Best option is to take a cab into center city, old city, or near the art museum... there's lots of fun bars to hit up... Can't wait for this show... so thankful my lotto came through for this show...
I recommend that you get out of Upper Darby after the show.
Our police force is less than hospitable ... just Google Michael Chitwood.
But don't be too intimidated ... Tina Fey's one of ours, too.

Can't believe it - Philly 2 here I come!!! Wow. I'm in shock and so excited!!! I may have an extra if anyone from London/TO/SW Ont is up for a drive - will know in a week or two
5 people from my neighborhood tried for tickets and were all shut out! People from Philly can't even go to show while others are flying in. It's a dame shame! Congrats to those who were selected, but this was absolutely the worse ticket policy ever.

try saturday
I hear ya. I got lucky today and got Philly 1 and my friend I go to shows with got Philly 2, but back in 2005, I got shut out of the Wachovia show for fan club seats and I can see the venue from my house in South Philly. It just sucks when locals can't get fan club seats to hometown shows and I really feel for you. A few of my good friends from the area were shut out too.
Good luck on Saturday and hopefully live nation's site works better than it has recently.
This presale was my best chance at going at all, but no luck. At ten a.m. on Saturday, I'll be on a college visit with my daughter so unless one of the three people I've asked to try for tickets comes through, despite the fact that the Tower literally minutes away, I'm going to miss this. Never have, never will, buy from scalpers.
I realize there are more important things to worry about, but I have to admit, I'll be really disappointed if this is going on so close and I'm not there.

ESPECIALLY because you're minutes away, there's no reason to think you won't be there. You, more than most, have the opportunity to go down there looking for spares from people prior to the show. Just look at the threads about last years' shows. There's almost ALWAYS people with extras (I believe LA was the main exception).
Don't give up until Ed goes on stage, please!

I agree - at the TO preparties there were people with extras - if you are close by then definitely worth going to check out to see if a fellow fan can hook you up, good luck on Saturday though
