I'm upset at the 10C as well. PJ won't play a show solely for me (at my house) at my convenience, while after every 4 songs played, a specific member of the band (which I'll designate) will serve me a beer and snack. What gives!

Lots of people travel during this period and wont be checking their emails till Monday. (The day of the sale) People are paying good money to be in this fan club and expect to have a little bit of a notice. (Maybe 1 week at most) It's like 10 club is trying to hide something.

The original email went out on Thursday but aside from that.. I didn't get an email until Friday and I was aware of the tour announcement. I think you are grabbing at straws for a valid complaint on this one. And "good" money? It's freakin 20 bucks! What could they seriously be trying to hide?

Thank you for this post because for about 5 minutes I thought I was living in a time warp because I could've sworn (will I go to hell for that? Jesus? Anybody?) that the email hit my email box before the holiday weekend.

    Worst. Complaint Ever.

Okay not ever, but it is pretty weak.

Yep, it's kinda sad how most people on here think that most people in the fan club are on the board everyday.

Most of my pearl jam friends who are fan club members never check the boards and depend on emails for updates.

Most people don't have time to sit on a message board all day.

    Luckily I do. ;)

Yep same here... although I find myself staying away from this board more and more everyday..... I wonder why??? :)

But apparently by reading the masses threads, it's ok to complain cause you don't get what specifically you'd like.

What ever happened to people actually taking the time THEMSELVES and being responsible for finding information out? Maybe if PJ is that important to you that you'll complain about it after the fact, perhaps you should use that energy and actually just keep up on things on your own rather than blame those who help the process (ie the 10C who do a great job).

what the hell is wrong with you... the 10c is for fans of the band, people who want a little more than your average fan... now i am not saying you have to live and breathe pearl jam, but for the most part, its members tend to be a little more up to date on current news and what may be coming.

i myself... i don't come on here every day and post every 5 minutes... but i do check the site probably once a day, if not, once every couple of days.

there is nothing wrong with being in here so much tho, it is what it's for... and if you miss out cos someone else was up to date, well, tough on you. but pretty much everyone knew news was coming, they gave us enough warning for it, they sent two e-mails about it so everyone was aware, and they even scattered their presale dates so it wouldn't get bogged down as we try out best to get tix.

hell... 10 years ago it wasn't like this, what, would you have wanted a personal phone call back then... 10c owes you nothing, and you need to seriously get a life.

PS- e-mail is the way we communicate, it's 2008 whether you like it or not, also, the website was updated immediately with the news, so i, as well as you, would have known without even glancing at the message board.

Switch to de-caf..... I never asked for anything other than my two Deep magazines a year, a x-mas vinyl and timely info about the band, the very things I've paid for with my membership dues. Yes I visit this message board but there are a large number (I'll say 70%) of 10C members who rarely or never do.

As for your email is the way we communicate rant:

I think the way they did it is fine.

If someone didn't see the email all weekend then they don't understand the purpose of email, which is to supply fast communication. Personally I check my email about 25-30 and even up to 50 times a day, then again, my job is based around computers and speedy communication, but I can not imagine someone having email and not checking it at least once or twice a day let alone a whole weekend... that's just foolish. If you're not going to check your email consistently, then why use email at all?

I know the bitchfest will never end here, but god damn it's getting pretty deep in here, I'm pretty sure we've seen every single complaint there could possibly be since this tour was announced.
  • FL tickets are still available so what tickets are you missing out on?
The ones that go on sale tomorrow? People dont check their email the Monday after Easter either?

It's always something isn't it....

I saw one person complaining about the short notice in 1 post, and I was scrolling away and noticed them bithching about the club not putting more dates out later in the summer so they could decide on travel.
Make up your mind, quick notice or delayed.
In reality people should go to their shows in their local region, anything else should be a bonus, nothing to get vindictive over. Now I usually come on here alot around the tours, and honestly have never witnessed a person getting shut out in their hometown.
That would suck, and be worthy of bitching.
Everything else really warrants not much bitching.
As far as prices 75 is high, but not by much, I ballanced 80 a show hoping for 70. So they were close.
I am sure lawn seats are cheraper but fuck that.
Some people have religion I have Pearl Jam.

    no more shows

Anyone complaining about the timing of emails and post on the message boards needs to take a moment to realize that presale tickets of prime seating to Pearl Jam concerts is a luxory and privilege that us 10c members enjoy (not a right) . If I cannot afford to check the message board or my email regularly, then I can join most other concert-goers and purchase tickets through ticketmaster on the scheduled onsale date.

I can image that the band and the fan club get their share of push back from venues, promoters, etc. for reserving/allocating these seats for their most die hard fans time after time. Thank you 10c. Thank you Pearl Jam.

kind of funny for someone who posts aprox 7 times a day to insult people being on here so much.

Gee if you're not getting emails from an organization you're paying to be a part of you would think, I mean LOGICALLY here, that you would contact said organization and iron out the problem with them instead of coming to a message board and bitching about it...

I think listening to the silent majority is dead.
contrary to what simon and garfunkle say theres not much of a sound to silence... thus impossible to really listen to... obviously a fan club should cater to the hard core fans before the casual... casual fans should be happy getting decent tickets through ticketmaster... and if they arent then they should follow the band a bit closer

    "Fan" is short for "fanatic".

If you aren't checking at least the front page of the Pit once a day, you're not much of a fan.

    j/k

Tickets for the shows on sale so far are still available. Grab a pair and enjoy yourself.

BTW, am I the only person that Tim visited in person about the tour? He was very helpful and gave me a discount coupon code to use.

actually the mass email went out on thursday but 10c had to resend because some people did not receive their initial email blast...

I'm a Christian, I was aware of it, didn't affect my Easter weekend...

i understand your frustrations though, it's odd how they do things sometimes...

yeah, i recieved mine on saturday...

    no complaints here...

this thread is a bit of a stretch.

I don't have the patience to read through the whole thread, but this is another pointless bitch post. People like you also blame the 10C when the emails go in your junk folder. They only announced on Thursday, and sent the initial one out then, and resent on Friday. What would have happened if they waited until today or tomorrow to send anything out? There'd be bitching that there wasn't enough notice. Egads the things we complain about.

maybe next tour they should personally contact each fan club member by telephone.....and NOT be permitted to leave a voicemail, but rather speak directly to the 10C member to ensure that he/she knows that a pre-sale is coming.

    ;)

then we would get complaints of them charging too much for a phone call or the hours of the fan club calling among other things...

  • are you forgetting that there was the "tweet" heads up a week earlier? based on that i knew a tour was coming and i am by no means a genuis. people should check the pit once a day--like changing your underwear.

    Dear 10 club,
Sending an email annoucing tour information on "Good Friday" for tickets is in poor taste. Many people in the US who work may have family obligations to the holiday weekend and not check their emails. This was way too short of an announcement. I bet a lot of people will miss out on tickets because of this short notice. Why is there a rush to sell the tickets? Afterall, prices were not even listed to day of the sale. I'd say hold the sales until you get ALL the information. This includes knowing the dates on the entire tour. Not just a leg.
    Thanks
