You should be worried.. that extra $0.32 could make you owe the government next year, depending on how many dependents you claim, how much you earn and how early you started getting the $0.32.

im the kind of guy the federal government loves....

i have them take an additional $10 a week out of my check....that way on top of everything else they snatch out of my wallet, they can take an additional $520 a year...

    bank it
    earn interest
    invest it
give it to ASSFUCKS who are looking for a bailout........

    whatever they want.....

    then come april.....
they mail me back my $520

    and everyone is happy.............

I'm confused as shit because I worked in Ohio but Illinois insists I owe them money too because I'm domiciled here (they even explicitly say that students have to pay them). I don't even want to think about city taxes... worked in Cleveland, live in Chicago, have permanent/voting residence in Perrysburg. I've got no problem paying taxes, I just wish it wasn't so godamn confusing.

    indeed!

at least you said it before know1 chimed in! ;)

i got a really nice refund this year, mostly b/c of some things i did in december......and it was most welcome. thus why i did the things i did. and probably for the first time ever, i am getting a small refund from NYS. usually we end up owing them a couple a of bucks, this year i think we're getting a big $142 from them. still haven't gotten it either, even tho we filed both fed/state efile on the same day, both get direct depositied...and the fed was in our account within 10 days.

Ouch! This made me remember that I am suppoose to be doing my boyfriend's taxes and not be online!! Argh!
I did mine a long time ago, got money back, and already spent it. i have been putting his off.
He's at band practice. I don't feel like doing them. Maybe I will in middle of night. Or maybe I won't LOL!!

On topic, the state tax is always higher than feds. I tell people to claim one less on state tax through the year so they won't have to pay at end of year. Like claim one on fed, but 0, zero, on state, etc.

Gotta love being young, poor, and in school... the state and feds donated a combined $300 to my tour fund. It ain't much.. but it is like a plane ticket to Outside Lands.. Thanks Uncle Sam!

I'm a CPA, so I am happy that tax season is over.

One of my clients had to make a Federal extension payment of $4.2 Million, and, ironically enough, he won't notice that its gone!

my tax comes off automatically at source before my pay is then put into my chosen bank

the US system seems to be far too complex and open for abuse imo.
oh scary... 40000 morbidly obese christians wearing fanny packs invading europe is probably the least scariest thing since I watched an edited version of The Care Bears movie in an extremely brightly lit cinema.

AH, I ended up doing them. I caught a loophole he would never had known about, so he's getting back $235 from the state. Nothing from feds, but owes nothing either.
He would had got nothing if he did them. I will end up with most of that $235! LOL. I do them for a reason. He has no idea how to do them anyway.
I got a grand back by doing mine. I don't trust anyone else to do my taxes.

Oddly enough, I am in the office today, yet the people who were really effected by tax season have seem fit to take the day off.

Since we are a small boutique firm, we don't do a tax party, but the CPAs do get a free day off. I am here today because I am taking-off Friday and Monday for Coachella.

my sister works for a small boutique firm...i work for a big four...and yes.....such different atmospheres, both have positives and negatives. as NOT a CPA and no desire to be :P...my firm is great to me. and yes, the office was a relative ghost town today, and probably will be for the next week. thus why is pent the day on the board...ALL day....and a great night out with hubby....and yea...tomorrow will be probably be more of the same.

oh and i still haven't gotten my state refund yet. haha. thankfully the fed came thru right away!
