Anyone else ever get this? I've gotten 2 pm's from 2 different people in the last week. I get the email to my account, then I check this place and it says the messages have been deleted or removed by the sender. What gives?

Did they know they had sent you a message to begin with?0 -
i think this is what happens...
unlike the old board, we actually have an 'outbox' beyond just a 'received' and 'sent' boxes. i think many members still mistakenly think when a message is in the 'outbox' that it has been received/opened. it hasn't. 'outbox' actually means you sent it, but the receiver has not opened it yet. once the message is opened, it then moves into your 'sent' box, and is then safe to delete. so yes, nowadays you can actually see how long it takes for someone to open your PMs. if you delete while in the outbox, it will disappear from the inbox of the person you sent it to.
another posssibility is someone told you off in a PM, then thought the better of it....saw you didn't open it yet....and deleted.Stay with me...

apparently if the sender deletes the message before the recipient
opens it, it's gone...erased, but the email has still been initiated.
that capability never used to exist, or at least to my knowledge.Nice shirt.0 -

it was a message that had been sent in duplicate due to connectivity issues with the sender's computer
both messages were deleted when i received the email telling me i had a new private message
(got two emails actually)
but both PMs were deleted and the sender wasnt sure how the deleting happened as in they did not think they had deleted the messages
i dont know where or if we even have that option to delete PMs we send people from their in-boxes?
maybe its just a new board feature to delete duplicate PM's to keep in-boxes free?~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

That sounds about right, except I'm going to tell myself it was a gorgeous young woman pm'ing to express her undying lust for me before she suddenly got embarrassed and backed out. I like that one better0 -

well if you didn't have to add that caveat of 'young'....perhaps it might've happened? :P
i'm going with my initial speculation tho.
i DO hope all the real issues with the board get addressed soon....annoying. tho i'll cut en some slack with that given the EV tix sales, announcements to come and all.......Stay with me...
