Sad day for baseball. Another great has passed. Didn't put up big career number or last very long in the league, but his impact was big and is still remembered today. A great, brief presence in baseball.

That's 2 losses for the baseball world in 1 day. Hope these things don't come in 3's, as they say.

Oh wow, you're right! Hopefully that's it...wow. It is amazing how it seems like we get a string of deaths in a row.

The more and more I hear about The Bird's death the more and more sad it makes me. It sounds like it was some kind of weird accident. He was only 54. Still he's fondly remembered in the Detroit area. He was the kind of character people flocked to see.

the quirky way he would groom the pitcher's mound,
talk to the baseball, and himself were quite endearing.

a sad day for baseball indeed.
    Nice shirt.

I never got to see him pitch, but I grew up on Tigers baseball and he was a legend. It's a shame :(

I used to date him. I have posted two pics of him and me on my space. www.myspace.com/paradisesinkhole
Those pics are from 1976-77, so that isn't what I look like now, at least I don't think I do, others say I look the same. One pic has been taped together 'cuz I ripped it up in a moment of anger. The tape is right over my face!!!! LOL! The other pic is not torn and taped.
It was such a shock to hear this today.
He would fill up other teams fields just because people wanted to see him play.
Many people think he injured himself playing ball. That is not true. He got injured horsing around and he jumped a fence and got injured.
I am still in shock. I find myself not wanting to watch TV. I just cannot believe it and the news says he was found under a dump truck on his farm.
May he rest in peace. I know he had a rough time after getting injured and not being able to play anymore.
He was happy on his farm.
    Save room for dessert!
