Potential Lola news....

Maybe this has already gone around, but I'm not here too often. Pretty good source tells me today that PJ are close to signing on as the main act at Lola Chicago. Other acts to include KOL, Beasties, and Tool. Take it serious or not, it's just a pretty good source.
Peace out
Mike

hm, that's weird. I don't see them playing lolla again so soon, but maybe they will.

At this point, what summer music festival aren't they headlining? Getting kinda silly.

I really hope not. Lolla last time was the worst PJ show I've seen. The crowd sucked, it was a very tight curfew (as opposed to Perry Ferrell saying it was going to be a super long set), etc, etc.

I'd still go... but I would take any other venue here in Chicago anyday!

Well... we will find out in a week. *shrugs*
The timing would work for me and I do love Chicago. But it's all about the $$$, especially if I'm hoping to do OutsideLands and maybe a couple other dates... we shall see.
Who knows with this band right now, anything could happen!

I would be very, very surprised if this is true. Especially since a few sources have already confirmed the headliners to me...
Further back and forth a wave will break on me, today...

I could swear I read somewhere that they weren't going to do lolla again for a few years, and that they would only do 1 or 2 festivals a year....

They just announced outside lands, what other festivals are they playing? How is it "silly" for a rock band to play music festivals????

What are you talking about??? The show was over 2 hours long and the crowd energy was super good, lots of young kids getting to see PJ for the first time and loving it.

If they play lolla it will be awesome, but I don't think its gonna happen, the fest already has, Depeche Mode, Janes Addictions, Beastie Boys, Kings of Leon, and Rumored Tool.

Austin City Limits, Outside Lands, and now (potentially) this. Just seems a bit overkill for the same band to headline (which is the key here) 3 different festivals over the course of a few months.

i missed the cheap tickets, and im gonna kick myself if they end up playing it. But we shall see, i've been following the lolla stuff and haven't heard pj mentioned AT ALL over there, but who knows.

And to the person who said the lolla show sucked, I was front row and it was amazing, in my top 3 that i've been to, if not my favorite. and i'm sure the crowd differed depending on where you were in the sea of people, but to each their own.
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

Unless one of the headliners (Tool, Beasties, KOL, Depeche, Jane's or Killers) decide to suddenly opt out, no chance in hell PJ are playing again so soon.

And the 07 show was pretty damn good. Bonnaroo crushed it, but Lolla is still in the top half of the shows I've seen.

i watched lolla '07 live at home via webcast style. i thought it was great performance!
those headlining these bands headlining this year, i highly doubt pearl jam will be there!

Every single year someone here says they are rumored to play every single festival. It's a bit ridiculous.

    Are you kidding me?????????
I was at that show, and it was one of the best concerts I have been to, and I have been to a lot of them!

I'll believe it when I see it...

Tool, Jane's Addiction, Beastie Boys, Killers, Depeche Mode, & Kings of Leon have already been 'confirmed' ... no way they add Pearl Jam to that list, they just don't have the money.

Killers are headlining Coachella, which proves they can stand their ground and are a big draw. Beastie Boys, Depeche Mode, Tool, & Jane's are all huge names and headliner quality bands, so is Kings of Leon now (more in England, but still probably a lot of money).

Lolla simply doesn't have the money to pay Pearl Jam, one of the highest paid bands in the country, when they already have 6 huge names on their bill.

That ... and they played 2 years ago.

I could see them getting a hard on from playing the same grounds where Obama was elected on.

Seriously? I thought the Lolla show was better than the Vic. Better set, tons of energy, a wild crowd, it was awesome.

surprised to see them playing there so soon.. maybe next year but they only finished up their headlining spot in 2007. I would prefer a couple of small Vic Theatre shows or a few metro shows.. something like that.
