I know there are some art fans on the board, how are these museums? In the future I would love to visit both of them.

What are they like?

It has been literally ten years almost to the day ( i remember traveling over easter) since i've been to both.

Since it has been so long i'm probably a bad person to get info from, but i remember loving it. Seeing famous paintings and art pieces i studied about in person was a trip.

I did not have near enough time at the louvre that i wanted. there was just so much to see.

I'm dreaming of a london/paris trip for my birthday in september. I want to visit to Louvre while in paris, but I realize I will have to devote at least a 1/2 day for it, at least. I love museums. I must have been a curator or an artist in my past life.

Both are amazing but give yourself plenty of time to visit ............ but if you like sculptures I would recommend you visit The Rodin House in Paris,he did live there but it has now been devoted to the home of his sculptures and paintings. You will not be disappointed.I cried when I saw the original Idole Eternal, the most beautiful sculpture ever.
The Lovers are also there as well as The Thinker and The Gates of Hell but Idole just took my breath away.

    Paris is an amazing city.
