    today, not a chance
the way i look at it, if we get an announcement before 4/28, no ACL
if we don't get an announcement before 4/28, ACL looks hopeful

highly highly doubt it. give it a couple of weeks. my only advice is don't rush into buying outside land fest tickets unless they give the official announcement the "lolla 07" treatment.

i think we're gonna be looking at a string of shows on the west coast similar to what the east coast got last year. 15ish dates built around the outside lands fest.
i have a paper here that entitles me to fast track status

I agree, I don't think we will get anything until May, they may have an agreement that they will not announce a tour until the festivals can sell some tickets. I think Bonnaroo was on sale for a few weeks before the tour announcment last year.

  • I'm gonna bet they won't announce anything (inlcuding confirmed SFOL show) until after the ACL Line-Up is released which is April 28th.

The 10C really drags ass at this process. They think they are being so discreet. makes them look worse if you ask me.

Festivals usually announce their line-ups way in advance to hype up the events..10C probably recognizes they've got all the time in the world - no matter how much us fans bitch, we'll still buy tickets on a whim! Therefore - why rush?

Or they could be trying not to get sued when breaking thier contract with the festival by announcing it before hand, maybe :?:

I doubt they would have any malicious intent. Announcements are one thing but really it's the actual ticket sale that has the real value.

The way tour announcements work generally is the band won't announce anything until everything is signed, sealed, delivered and, in some cases, in line with the promoters marketing plan. Even if a show is planned and 99% happening, they can't announce anything if there is any potential that the show will not happen. However, any random staffer at the promoters office, venue, advertising firm, etc. who gets wind of a potential show can blab it to whomever and that is how we get to "know" the band is playing somewhere. You're never going to beat the leaks. But it's bad business to support leaks or rumors and then have the show not happen after all. Tour routing often goes through many revisions before an agreement is reached.

Like I said, the ticket sale is all that really matters. Don't believe the hype until you get an onsale date.

Its not about being discreet, its about the festival, they usually are CONTRACTUALLY not allowed to announce more shows until after tickets for the festival goes on sale so people that would go to other shows in the area buy tickets for the festival.

I agree with the May timeline. If ACL is announced on April 27th as I've seen a few people post, then I would guess that the second week of May will be prime time for a full tour announcement :)

hopefully before the may full tour announcement, a new single off the new record will hit the airwaves or something.

I wish theyd announce it today but they obviously won't since they already posted that San Francisco concert! :(
I hope we get it soon though, maybe after they are finished with the EV lottery since 10c has that on their hands right now.

We are not going to get a single before the announcement, but we may get one before the first show of the tour :)

I think 2-3 weeks after ACL. That way ACl and OL fests can both sell there tickets before any competing shows could be annoounced.
