I wonder if the band will play anything other than festival shows this year. I prefer seeing just the band.

    I'm expecting a tour announcement!

actually, the beacon theatre charity gig for robin hood was their last US show. just sayin'.....:)

i am hoping for some east coast dates sometime in the fall, after ACL and whatever else they play on the west coast. probably won't happen - probably be like last year. east coast got the love, so this year, west coast. hope i score 10c tix for the ed baltimore gig b/c if the pj tour shakes out as i think it may - no east coast shows - i more than likely will not be able to attend any. so at least get some small *fix* with solo ed. :D here's to hoping for more shows.....and i am hoping some place/date i can do! 8-)

btw - if this gig is late/end of august....i personally would think a september west coast tour, take them right to ACL which is early october. i know i saw pj at the gorge in septmber in 2005 - and it was pretty f'ng hot! then they did july  2006 there, and i heard waaaayyyyy hotter. i'd think august would be pretty hot too, so september would make more sense on many levels imo. september absolutely rules me out - at least thru the 15th, but in all likelihood....i'm out of any shows i have to do mega travel for. definitely trying to be a bit more restrained this year...we'll see if it happens......;)

It'd be pretty cool to see PJ in Golden Gate park. I'll be looking to do my post-Bar trip right around then too. Might have to consider a west coast road trip. I did want to fly to Seattle and drive down the coast through the redwoods...

it's uncanny how often we get this kind news from everyone except the Ten Club.

    very good news nonetheless.

In fairness to the 10C, festivals generally always make the official announcement on headliners. I am sure that the 10C will post the news as soon as the festival officially makes their announcement.

Yes, 10c may not have been allowed to announce this until the festival officially announces the lineup today.

This is good news cause this means that the tour is gonna be much larger then I expected. I was figuring about 12 shows all on the west coast and the south. This opens it up to a possibility of some midwest and even some east coast dates as well. So maybe there is hope for the Alpine rumor!!!!

driving down the 101 all the way to SF was amazing.. highly recommended. a couple of hairpin turns with nothing but moonlight made me white-knuckle the steering wheel tho..make sure you get a rental with good handling..

Sorry, looks like we're rooting against each other! I could make a day trip to Minneapolis/St. Paul or a weekend trip to Chicago, Alpine, or maybe *maybe* Detroit in September... but if I wanna travel out to the West Coast it's gotta be in August. :) Sorry, but here's to hoping for a nice trip down the coast at the end of August, starting in Seattle!

    wish away! :P
makes no difference to me when they play west coast. august OR september, both are completely out of the question for me. i just want east coast shows in october or later! :D really dreaming there....but that's what i do. ;) i was simply pointing out that it does make *sense* if they are doing the SF fest show end of august, then ACL beginning of october...that they'd tour in between those dates, as in, september. but who knows? perhaps they'll do west coast in august, south in september leading up to ACL...then hit the east coast for our GORGEOUS autumn? yes...i love to dream........

and then sure, head to oz in november/december..... 8-)

  • So, does this mean that there will be new music that the band will be playing at this festival ? ? ?
I wonder if this new album is going to come sooner then later. :?

wouldn't you think b/c the new album is not expected before this date...thus a tour before this date would be unexpected? did anyone actually *expect* pj to be touring this summer? i certainly didn't. i think all things pointed to a fall tour, ir any tour at all this year. but sure, unexpected surprises are always nice! :)

It's uncanny how this type of post shows up in every single one of these threads, regardless of the circumstances (i.e., festival shows, as have been pointed out to you already, have first dibs on announcements).

Well they had the month and city right if you count the Beacon show, probably the best RS can do.

my brother and i drove from seattle down to santa barbara hauling a big uhaul. a little scary at times but the redwoods are amazing as are the "trees of mystery!"
This show, another show, a show here and a show there.
