If you don't like the way 10 Club is doing things. Don't buy the tickets, and don't renew your memberships. That way I don't have to sit next to your whiny-ass at the shows, and I'll be a few rows closer next time around. Have a great weekend.

I've spent so many years in question
To find I'd known this all along.

At first I didn't like. But the more I though about the more I realized that it makes sense. I think it is a decent method for the Vedder shows because the venues are so small and the demand is insanely high. That said, I definitely DO NOT want this method for a Pearl Jam tour. I've been in the fan club for 11 years and a fan since 93. Even though I am getting up there in years, I still LOVE to attend multiple shows. I don't see this changing anytime soon. I will usually attend between 5-10 shows every tour. With the situation I am in right now, if the band was about to have a full tour. I would probably hit up over 20 shows. For me one or two Vedder shows is fine. But that is not the case when it comes to a Pearl Jam tour. I know I am not alone is this thinking.

I hope your retirement funds are in place, if you are attending that many shows per tour.

It is a just a unique circumstance that would allow me to do this. This would definitely be the only year I would have been able to do though. So I wish they were doing a full tour this summer and fall. Oh well, im just happy I know a new album is in the works, then another tour. Im so impatient though. I cant take it!!!

It used to be amusing, but its so overdone since the binaural tour. The message board used to be fun around tour times, now its just annoying.

We all have to remember, this system is for the Ed Vedder solo tour. Just like last tour, the ticketing system for Ed was different than the regular Pearl Jam tour.

It's ok to bitch about the ten club from time to time. Will I cancel my membership because some dude on the message board starts a thread about bitching? No. At the end of the day, I'll take my mid floor seats with a shot at the first two rows over the hassle of crappy TM seats. Us old timers just can't deal with the new fangled way of doing things. We like our rotary phones, our tvs that can't pause and rewind through commercials and we want to order our 10 Club tickets with index cards. You youngins can keep your internet.

now that's the spirit...................and i am an oldin, as well. shit, i only saw one show during the 90's and that is because my boss let me take off two days, so i could camp under the ticket window.

I have a strange feeling(and I seriously hope) this may be the standard operating procedure for all tickets in the future. No more site crashing because a billion people are all trying to buy the exact same tickets at once. No more having 'the fastest trigger finger and the fastest computer' nonsense. No more trying for fucking hours to get that magic little 'checkout' message. It's easier for the ten club, and it's easier for the fans. Everyone has the exact same shot at getting tickets as everyone else. You know how many times I've gotten yelled at by my boss because I'm trying for 2 hours in the MIDDLE OF A FREAKIN WORK DAY to try and get tickets!!??It has gotten ridiculous over the past few years. Let's just all put our name in the hat and hope we get picked. Seniority can still apply(not that I want it to). They know who the person is that they picked and they know how long they've been in the 10C, just give them the better seats. It's much much simpler. :)

If seniority no longer counts for anything, and almost no one gets tickets, what is the point in having a fan club membership? The green message board? And I say this as a fan in 1991, never joined Ten Club, stopped listening, listened again and eventually created and sporadically kept my Ten Club account so that my numbers are less than a year old.

There is a balance between making things accessible to all and appreciating the people who have been with you and hung in there since the beginning. Seniority should mean *something*, you paid every year for years because you cared, and you went to show after show and supported the band when they otherwise weren't selling out stadiums. Now you can't even buy scalped tickets to go to shows? I suppose that is one way to win the re-seller war, but not a very effective one.

As for me, I have no reason to whine, but I can understand why folks are *whining*. I'm just glad there is no fan club for Fugazi that takes dues with the pretense of getting a seat at the show. I think I'll take the money that I would have spent on the Baltimore show to FortReno.com and go see free shows this Summer in memory of the free Fugazi shows I have seen there with everyone in years past.

    YOU are very wise....

    and absolutely correct.....................

its an easier system for the 10club...
its an easier system for the fans....

and as far as pearl jam shows go...
there seemed to be plenty of fan club seats available for all the shows last tour(except N.Y.).....
so there is no reason to limit the tickets to just one show..........

    SO NO PROBLEM!!!!

But i LOVED how a few people reacted to just the THOUGHT of not being able to get their precious tickets to 20 shows......

It was as if there ENTIRE FUCKING WORLD was about to crumble...........
    Take me piece by piece.....
Till there aint nothing left worth taking away from me.....

I'm in the dark on this, as I really have never had any desire to see Ed solo and do not plan on attending any of these shows. Could someone please explain to me what kind of system that they used? And are they going to do this when Pearl Jam goes on tour next??

I agree. People are also forgetting that for shows with absurdly high demand, the truth is that in the past, it may as well have been a lottery! You shouldn't need "skill" or "speed" to buy tickets, that's BS!

this ticket system for the ed solo shows is no more "fair for everyone" than previous ticket sales.

so this time, you had 2 or 3 days to place your order and hope that you got "randomly selected." everyone had that same chance.

in past ticket sales, you were given a time that tickets would go on sale, so you knew to be ready and get online at a given time and try to get tickets. that's just as "fair" as the way these eddie shows were sold this time. everyone had the same and equal chance of getting tickets then too.

who's to say that tickets for these eddie shows won't be given to the first people who bought tickets to each show as long as you're within your one-show limit? do any of you know that for sure? nope, because none of you are the ones handing out tickets, as much as everyone here seems to like to pretend that they are the decision makers for the 10club.

hopefully future ticket sales will stick with the system that we had last summer for the full band tour. the random couple of rows up front, and seniority for everyone else was a really neat idea. face it, everyone can't sit in the front row. i know i'd love to, and i never have. making seats random for everyone still will not let everyone sit up front. your chances of getting up front wouldn't really be that much better, and don't forget if it was all random seating, then you'd also have just as good of a chance of getting tickets MUCH WORSE than your ten club number would earn for you as well. seniority seating needs to always stay, and i hope that it will.

it basically was the standard operating procedure for last year's tour, except seniority mattered, which it always should in my opinion. there were only a couple of shows that sold out quick. i don't know why people would say it's any easier for the 10club... it's likely all an online sales computer program. neither is any simpler than the other. they just wait for the results to spit out. if anything, this new system would be more complicated, because now once tickets are handed out, the 10club is dealing with releasing holds on people's credit cards that don't get tickets and all that stuff that wasn't dealt with before. and with last year's system, everyone still had the same chance at getting tickets as everyone else. we all were given email warnings that a ticket sale was coming, and to plan accordingly. you can't get much more fair than that.

It is a just a unique circumstance that would allow me to do this. This would definitely be the only year I would have been able to do though.
Were you a recipient of a government bailout? lol
    LOL, good one. :lol::lol::lol:

But actually, Im getting money from a bad motorcycle accident I was in.
Oof. Not nearly as amusing. Sorry to hear it. Hope you're recovering ok. (Assuming you are, at least enough to attend some shows! :))
