i love that phrase. there are too many people that will ignore things that happen around them because "it's not my problem". well maybe you are right for now, but when something keeps happening because people want to play ignorant, you know what happens? ridiculous laws and lawsuits are made.

so share a story of how you saw something and said something!

i was in a store once and witnessed some kids stealing. i quickly went to the service desk and asked them to page the manager. he came down and i told him the situation. he ran back upstairs to watch them on camera and called the cops. it took a bit of time, but statements were made as were arrests and i got a gift card for doing the right thing.

i am sure some people have better stories...

share them!

i just went to subway 15 minutes ago and i saw a lady had her huge GMC truck idling..and her kids were in it.
i didn't say anything but should have.
it wasn't even the fact that someone could drive away with her kids... it was the idling that bugged me.
i was behind her in line the whole time... thought about saying something... but didnt...

    next time maybe

  • My roommate likes to leave his two bedroom lights, closet light, bathroom light, and tv on when he's not home for hours. It really pisses me off. Not just because of 'saving the planet' it just pisses me off how lazy he is. I used to say something, but he doesn't get it. So all I can do is just go in his room and turn all the lights off for him.

He also likes to leave messes in the kitchen and when I confront him on that, he gets really defensive and asks why I think it's him and not one of our other roommates. BECAUSE none of our other roommates are lazy, inconsiderate!! I think he's completely clueless on responsibilities because I'm sure his mom cleans up after him at home.

I'll try to think of something better but I just wanted to contribute to this thread because I am interested in seeing others' stories!

Rather than being birthed like a normal child, Chuck Norris instead
decided to punch his way out of his mother's womb. Shortly thereafter
    he grew a beard.

I've spoke my mind a few times to Litterbug's, but there's really no point, they just stare at you blankly.

You changed your name! There! I saw something and said something...

nahhh...when I lived in Vancouver a lady left her truck idling with a door open while she ran into her condo leaving a small child and a baby there free for the grabbing...I waited over 10 minutes for her so I could yell at her. "What's your problem? Would you like me to call the cops or child protection services?" She was all, "I forgot my latte - fuck off"... "Don't you watch the news? Someone could have taken your kids! I could have taken your kids!" but she told me to f-off again..

I don't even have kids, but this pissed me off...

but after years of therapy and a bunch of meds...I don't yell at people anymore...I can speak to them calmly... I am known to report drunk drivers on the highway...that really sticks in my craw that people have the nerve to do something like that...drive drunk...

And - good for those who speak out!

yea i've said that to a girl who threw her ice cream container from dairy queen on the ground as they were walking, to impress her friends.
i asked her if it was too heavy for her, and that there was a garbage can a block up that she should try carrying it to.... she obviously didn't like it too much...

  • I was walking in to a grocery store several years ago and this lady franticly ran up to me that some guy was beating up on his girl around the side... I was like "what the hell do you want me to do about it... She was yelling at me to help... I walked around the side to hear screaming and seeing long blonde hair..I broke up the fight and actually threw a few punches and a bunch of "you like to hit women" type of comments....

Well.... Long story short, the victim was actually a guy with long blonde hair who was screaming like a little bitch... This kid was apparently doing this other guys wife.... This is why I don't get involved, I felt so bad.
