I think I just found out my EV tix order wasn't selected..

Ever since I placed an order for a pair of tickets to the Nashville show when they went on sale Wednesday, there has been $162 on hold (for lack of better words) in my checking account. It was like that Wednesday, as well as yesterday. I just logged in a few mins ago to check my balance, and those funds are no longer being held.. the money is back in my checking account.
Maybe I'm jumping the gun, but I have to believe this means my order wasn't "selected".
Has anyone else noticed something like this?

But like some others have said maybe it was the banks doing you should call up ASAP and check because the presale ends in less than 5 hours.

"Just make sure that amount stays in your account in the event you get chosen for a show!"
Haha yeah no kidding.. I don't plan on doing anything with that money til I receive official word from 10C.
Sometimes the "holds" will fall off, then there will be a "hard post" when the funds are actually taken from your account. I wouldn't get too worried just yet.
slh
Thanks for the info.. sorry again for causing a stir. Just wasn't sure what was going on.
they did the same thing with me SD boxset.....i totaly forgot about it till the day i went to go food shopping and got DENIED cause of lack of funds........
My bank released the $166 hold from TC this Saturday morning, and I know it's their bank policy to do that. I'm not freaking out or anything, but I just wanted to let others know so that you realize that just as long as you have entered the lottery, you are still in. But just make sure you have funds available for when the TC does debit your account for the price of the tickets. If it bounces, you're out.

yeah, the bank released the funds back into my account also. i have a feeling there going to stay there. i've never gotten tickets through 10c lotteries before so i sure ain't holding my breath, but at least theres a chance with the public sale.
You guys are to paranoid!! No wonder the 10C isn't returning that many emails lately, why send an email to 10C before calling your bank, why call the bank in the first place?
All banks are like that, some have 48 some others have 72 hour hold, once the 10C runs the credit card they get an authorization code for that amount, now the bank can only hold your funds for a certain period of time, then when 10C is ready to charge your card then run the authorization again and the funds are taken off.
i hope that doesnt screw me up if i get picked
tenclub, you need to rethink this idea... one pair per member for a small tour and small venues is cool... but this whole lottery system is for the "tweet, tweet" birds! the same amount of tix are going to be sold and the same amount of people will get tickets, so whats the point of having me authorize a $169 transaction, freezing up $169 OF MY MONEY for god knows how long, just to find out i dont have tickets after waiting days to find out?
not a fan of this lottery system at all, but i give the 10c credit for trying to make things better. but all this is just a big hassle to most, in my opinion. not to mention $169 of my money has been frozen for 3 days and counting...
I dont understand this concept, if you balance your checking account you shouldn't bounce. I mean if I had spent $160+ in tkts regardless of whether they are on hold or not you should count them as gone until you know you were not picked. no? :?
no offense, but it is easy for you to say "relax" when it is not your money tied up in some random ticket lottery for apparently a week or so...
thanks for the heads up though
the concept is easy... i am not worried about bouncing... i just am not a big fan of handing a business my $169 for days on end, just to have an entry in a random ticket lottery. pretty simple concept if you ask me.
not bitching, just pointing out that some of us do not rely on credit cards, and that tying up people's $ for days on end is not the best idea i have ever seen...
and i am not the only one, i spoke with 4-5 friends of mine that are fans that go to every local show together, and we all agree this system sucks... who wants to wait around for a week to find out if you have a pair of tickets?
I'm sorry, I should have just PM'ed you instead. What was I thinking.
I hope this is not the way the PJ tour tkts is handled but for EV shows which are totally different I think it is a fair way to do it.
As far as giving your funds to a business for "days on end".. when did you buy the opportunity 4 days ago which has only been 3 business days? you kiddin'? The 10C has not taken your funds, all they did was authorize it to make sure the money is there, all you have to do is make you your account has the money available for them to withdraw if you are picked, is not like they are taking the money for something they haven't sold you.
