Another rumored tour date.

August 28-30

Read this on another board. It's from someone who was at one of the secret Green Day shows this week in San Francisco.

Last night at the Green Day show, I chatted with a guy who said he works for Pearl Jam. According to this gentleman, whose name I didn’t get in the mayhem, the headliners for this year’s Outside Lands Festival are (drum roll please) …

Friday: Pearl Jam

Saturday: Dave Matthews Band (we figured that)

Sunday: Beastie Boys

The lineup is supposed to be officially announced Monday at the festival’s site, but I’ll let you know if anyone in the know confirms or debunks my info before then.

A reminder: This year’s festival, the second installment, will take place in San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park on Aug. 28-30.

If it does turn out thusly, what do y’all think? Sound good to you?

    Wait, are you telling me Pearl Jam is actualyl going to be playing a show on the West coast? I won't belive this until I see it on the official website.
    Does this mean they could actually play a Seattle show? I didn't think this was possible, but perhaps it shines some hope.

    Yah but no Seattle, just California, which don't do shit for his biggest fans in Seattle.

    Interesting...no mention of any east coast dates yet which leads me to think that the next PJ tour will be just the south and west coast. I hope I can fly out to one of these shows!!

    We'll know on Monday so no reason to get all crazy.

    I was poking around the Coachella board today and saw this rumor as well ... (note, there was a rumor they'd play Coachella too, which, DIDN'T happen .. so, again, it's just a rumor)

    As someone who lives in the city, this would kick a ton of ass ... as would a 10c only warmup show at the Warfield or Fillmore ... but, that's just getting into way too much crazy talk.

    If they do play OSL ... let's just hope the sound quality is a little better than Radiohead last year ... which cut out several times. (Still a great show though).

    expensive for me...I live on the east coast. Hopefully PJ shows us some more love this year and makes a stop in Boston.

    exactly. I flew back home to see 2 shows in Mansfield last year (and 2 in NYC) ... I think the folks in New England can truck their butts out here while we get a little West Coast PJ love ... :D (oh, but not you Seattle, you get nothing and like it. (I kid, I kid) )

    I have a good feeling about the Pearl Jam tour, I think Seattle will finally get some shows :mrgreen:

    I have a strong feeling this rumor is true. Obviously we won't know until Monday... I just emailed my contact from Another Planet Entertainment who puts on Outside Lands and asked her. Her lack of reply tells me that it is true.

    That would be great.... and to whomever commented about the last time they played Golden Gate Park... yeah... that wasn't the ideal situation but that was the beginning for me and was great regardless... and the make up show in San Jose made it all worth while. THAT SHOW WAS A FUCKING MAZING.

    Summary: I think the rumor that PJ is playing Outside Lands will turn out to be true. Mark my words.

    Interesting! Doesn't really fit with what Mike recently said. If true though this would mean a much bigger tour coming up.

    1. I want it to be
    2. The Dave Matthews part is true. he had a show scheduled a while back for San Fran on August 29th in a venue TBA.... then they announced the dates for OLF (august 28-30)... even before the date annoncement for the festival, Golden Gate Park was the speculated venue.
    3. I have seen the Beastie Boys rumor on other boards

    God i hope not. I hate festival like shit. Sweaty, stupid people, and the scum that gets attracted whenever a few bands get together.

    read Ranger Dave's last clue. for a second, I thought this was a reference to "Nothing as it seems"... but it an exact quote from the Dave Matthews band song "The Stone" pretty much confirms DMB palying... and ranger dave is dropping clues to the headliners now. I expect a PJ reference in the next couple of hours
