I think it'll already be the case, but if not................... please make "unlimited" copies available.

By all means, release some kinda limited edition thing, god(Mike) knows I'll jump, but at least have a more standard version that will be widely available.

Vinyl is not made that way, you cant just burn them to order. You have to press a large order. Plus it is expensive to press, compared to CDs. The avocado is hard to find now? It was available for a long time.

Vinyl is a bigger deal to manufacture, one of the reasons all the record companies round the world try to convince us all CD was better.

It was just cheaper to produce, package and ship that's all, quality had nothing to do with it.

The new album like the last will be Ltd pressed as usual I guess, more art work for people walls then?

Why is every other band on the planet able to do it then? I dunno of a decent album that has come out lately, that isn't as available on vinyl as it is cd.

S/T is out of print, just like every other PJ record. I dunno about the numbers but they are surely pretty low.

If PJ limits the vinyl release, this time, it will show that they are pretty out of touch with their fans and music, in general.

This isn't some "bitching" post about how I didn't get Into the Wild and Benaroya. I'm not a huge fan of Into the Wild and unplugged PJ isn't my thing, though I'd be lying if I said they weren't on my wishlist.

It's just not necessary to put a limit on vinyl like it was a few years ago. It's the physical format of choice.

EDIT: The cost of the new vinyl I buy, strongly reflects the more expensive manufacturing, but there isn't another band as big as PJ that would allow that to stop them.

I honestly think there will be a wider release, this time around.

If that's what they want to do with their purchase, then sure. Not really sure where you get off suggesting what people do with the things they spend their money on. If I want to buy PJ records and burn them (literally), guess what.. it's none of your business. If people like to buy vinyl and frame it/put it on display, what's it to you? People like to collect stuff. Get over it.

I plan on it, but I would LOVE to be able to simply go to my record store and pick up a copy, if I was so inclined.

Are you not going to realize that record stores and cd stores are things of the past? What's the difference about where you buy a vinyl? CLEARLY if you weren't able to purchase a previous vinyl from your local record store in the past....why would you continue to wait on them to carry a vinyl that is available from the 10C store. Even an untrained monkey could figure that one out.

And then it would be one less post of someone bitching on this board.

When the record comes out I believe there will be plenty of copies available on vinyl, just like there was for ST, Riot Act, Lost Dogs. They will not however be available for ever due to the costs/technicalities involved, once the original run is done, it is done.

If you pick it up shortly after release either here or in a B&M, it shouldn't be hard to find. The record will not be "limited" in the sense that Benaroya and ITW are limited.

    yep. and yep.
If you want it, you know well the demand for this kind of stuff, especially PJ - get it from 10c when it comes out. Tons of band realease very limited numbers. The vinyls you guys still see in the store that may seem "unlimited" and dont sell out obviously have zero demand, and consequently worthless to collectors/flippers - thats why the Smarshing Pumpkins section is always packed full - who wants that crap? ?

If there was NOT such a high demand for past PJ vinyls (and many other bands as well), most of you flippers wouldnt even care to own them.

    How am I bitching?

I realize that there are fewer record stores than before, but even trained monkeys know that vinyl is more popular than it has been for 25 years.

That was the point of my out of touch comment.

May be the band should make available for people who have no intention of playing them the artwork for a cheaper price, print a few more sleeves and maybe offer a framing option if they like.

Would this keep people happy who want the artwork on their wall, of course my stance on this is pretentious, if it is the artwork you want then surely a service like this would keep the framers happy?

Although I feel this would make fuck all difference and these people just cause they have the money would buy them anyway. The value of these pressing has allot more to do with their purchasing then many will let on.

No, but you sure can buy it from 10C when it comes out. instead of suffering from "limited vinyl bs" practices.

No shit. I own every PJ album on vinyl, bought at face value from a regular old record store, because I bought them very easily when they came out. I can understand people being bummed because they got into PJ later and now can't buy, say, Yield on vinyl, but you're talking about a record that hasn't come out yet for fuck's sake. It will be very easy to buy when it comes out.

    This thread is lame.

Just fucking buy it when it is released.

Don't put so much energy into something so simple.
