Well, if you're just nervous about the pain, then suck it up.

But if you're not sure about the art....then don't do it.

It looks like it could be a cool tat, though!

    Good luck!

i love the art and I really do want it. It's gonna be painfull, getting it on my ribcage. It's more financial now... coughed up alot of cash in the last few weeks: Vedder solo tour, bought 8 KOL tickets for the spectrum that my boys haven't paid yet, bought 6 Chelsea vs AC Milan in Baltimore that my boys haven't paid yet, Going to Punta Cana for a wedding in May...... CRAZY!

that's another thing, it's my brother's buddy who doesn't have a whole lot of experience. He's a great artist, and he will give me discount but I think this piece requires a professional.

it's a pretty intense design, i wouldn't go to someone who doesn't have a lot of experience. are you going to him just because he is your brother's buddy?

i'd cancel, do research of very experience artists in your area and then make a decision.

    Scratch what I originally said...

    DO NOT DO IT!!!

I had 4 tattoos done when I was 17/18 by a non professional/not recommended and now i'm having them all covered by an award winning artist because I hate and regret them so much. They're just ugly.

Bare in mind that it is a permenant scar on your body, a scar that will cost you dollar and time... and plenty more dollar and time to get it corrected if it does fuck up.

And NEVER EVER go to an artist who offers "discounts" or "specials". If they are any good, they are booked solid months in advance, and will run between $100-$150/hour for their time.

    Agreed.

The artist I went to for my Down and PJ tattoos did a perfect job... even if she did charge £70 per hour for it. She was meticulous and worked fast and that's the kind of artist I'm interested in - respect for the customer and their choice of work, professional, recommended, talented and quick. I just wish i'd gone to her for the first 4 :(

Some tattoo artists (Paul Booth springs to mind) not only have huge waiting lists but they also only do custom pieces... It's really worth investigating properly, as I said, It's a permenant scar on your body that you don't want fuckin' up.

    wo!! Great poster..pretty detailed tattoo..
You will have to be in love with that design to put it on you body...if its done well I think it would look really sweet as a tattoo...
But ya....not done well is scary....there is not a lot of space between the black lines... I have no tattoo's tho so maybe you should not listen to me.
haha...Good LUCK with your decision!! :D

If pain is what you're worried about, you should get over that real quick. I have 3 tattoos...none of them felt "good", but I think the pain of a tattoo is a little bit overrated...but everyone's tolerance is different. LIke she said, just suck it up.

Think of it like this, once you start, are you really going to finish? It would be pretty ridiculous to have such a cool tattoo not even be finished on you...

and yes, if you are unsure of the art...don't do it. I personally think it's very important to be 100% confident and comfortable with your artist, and the piece that they're putting on your skin.

EDIT: I just read that it's going to be on your rib-cage...which I hear is a bitch. Good luck my friend, I think you'll be fine...just tough it out and remember, it's PJ!!!

Well, chances are that the artist won't do it in one sitting...and I'd be suprised if he/she did.

It's possible, but your cutting it short...talk to you artist about that before you get it done, he may have some different thoughts about it.

I was going to get a tattoo when I was in Hawaii...but the artist said that my skin was already too sunburnt and that the water+sun might do damage...but other artists have said that's nonsense...

My advice may not help you much, so i would jsut recommend really talking to your artists about all your concerns. That's what they are there for.
