i need MAJOR help! i dunno where to go for spring break! i'm in australia and i figure i should go somewhere, tour the country, visit another country, do SOMETHING so my time here isn't wasted. i wanted to do this

but my mom is saying it might be too expensive.
i would love to do tours only so that i'm doing something instead of wasting time figuring out what to do and where to go. should i tour around australia or go to NZ or some other country? i just wanna go somewhere and not spend a lot of money doing so and not spend a lot of time thinking of where to go and what would be the best bang for my buck. and of course (as my mom chimes in) it has to be safe and reputable and blah blah blahhhh...
i've got 14 days so if anyone has any suggestions, maybe somewhere you've been to if you live here or have traveled in or around australia, that would be great. all suggestions are welcome! :)

Australia is so big, that if you want to drive anywhere it will take ages. That tour you suggested will involve a LOT of driving. But it sounds good.

    These tours are pretty good:

sounds expensive, but if you were to add up the costs of doing it yourself - transport, accommodation, food, and then figuring out where to go by yourself, it works out pretty cheap, about $150 a day.

Melbourne city is not that great. You need to explore the outer regions, beaches etc, but again involves a lot of driving. And its pretty cold here now.

I suggest looking at Queensland. The beaches, reefs, theme parks, rainforests. Check it out!
Take me for a ride before we leave...
