So if Ed's touring, I would assume that means the album will be done by then... we should be hearing some album news.. right? I hope so. I'm glad that Ed is touring, but I'd rather have a new album and the full band on tour.

i would hope it is done and while he is touring it will be mixed and packaged and all. Then maybe a late summer/early fall release date with a short full band tour before the end of the year?

My money's on Ed touring means the album's on hold. They hadn't even nailed down any songs according to interviews given in the spring. Sounds to me like a long break in the recording process, with the band going back into the studio in the fall to actually record it. I'm betting against any new material/new album in 09.

Why would it mean that the album is on hold until next year? Last 10c email said that it was shaping up to be a busy year or something like that (don't have it in front of me?) There are what?? 14 dates scheduled for this EV solo tour with a possibility of some rollovers... so maybe 20? It's not like he is singing PJ material every night? Could this possibly be the only thing happening for the rest of 09' ? Ten Re-issue and this little tour? Not taking away from the tour and seeing Ed solo ( saw him in NY last summer and it was awesome!!) Im just saying May will be 3 years sine Avacado! :? Will they put us off almost four years before this new record drops?? If that is the case it better knock my socks off!!

I am going with.... he is doing this small tour to get his voice right in order to be ready to sing the killer new material from the new PJ album when they do a short tour this fall! Then a full scale tour in spring 2010!

Well, it was 3 1/2 years between RIOT ACT and "AVACADO". I think this is how things are going to be from here on out with the band. Family, individual projects, age... these factors lead to more time between studio albums and full scale tours.

With that being said, I think an album release date is still very much up in the air. Eddie being out on the road for a month doesn't really push back the album release. Who knows, maybe it will inspire him to finish off the lyrics while he's travelling and performing? I don't think we'll see a full-band World Tour start until after the album's completion. Stories and interviews seem to indicate that there's still some work to do on the album, and best case we may see it released in Fall '09. But it just seems to me that albums are almost always released later than first anticipated. Artwork, marketing, etc. will all take some time.

Given PJ's history of touring where the weather is nice, I'm predicting the following (with ample breaks inbetween)...
    Album... Late 2009
    Overseas Tour... Late 2009/Early 2010
US Tour... Spring, Summer 2010 (including 20th Anniversary Show in August???)

Really?! That's fuckin awesome to hear. I hope they really are about done with the album. Don't think I can wait until 2010 for new PJ. I will however be hitting up this EV tour....

Im really psyched about the upcoming EV tour and am thrilled to be going to one of the Philly shows. My biggest disappointment is that they limited the fan club to one set of tickets to the tour versus one set of tickets per city, per tour. I really respect what the fan club is trying to do to help diveristy with the shows and seeing that everyone has a equal opportunity. However, the fans, I mean the real fans would stick to the rules given that they did outline that fans that resell will have their privileges revoked. I would travel just about anywhere to see them play and considering the state of the economy today and as a small business owner, a tour like this is the equivilant to my vacation for the year. I just wish there was a way to give the real fans the best opporutnity and not to have to worry about the snakes that make for Ticketmaster, LiveNation and such, where the true fans would have first dibs on seats. I am thrilled to be going to a show during this next tour and see that steps are being taken to get in the right place, Im just hopeful that one day I wont have to battle with the likes of the scaplers of Tickemaster to get a decent seat and show that I truly look forward to and enjoy from the very depths of my soul and remember for far beyond the drunken high that can consume so many that attend these shows through tickets that have been oversold for far beyond their legal limits.

believe it or not, this tour was not scheduled by Ed last weekend over a cup of starbucks and a cig. this has probably been tentatively scheduled since last year. I'm not in the biz, but I dont understand why people are trying to interpret what this means for the album. Mike just said a few weeks ago that they are working on it. do you think he didnt know about this tour and he was sitting there hitting refresh on the new board? ;)

The band first said they were working on it about a year ago. That means nothing.

I don't think this policy has anything to do with combating scalpers. It has to do with ensuring that more fan club members get to see shows, rather than the same 50 people seeing all 14 shows.
