Red Rocks, any of those other places I would find other things to do. Why travel to exotic places to see a band that comes through town every other year?

fuck..if money was of no concern...i'd do the whole world tour along side with them..stay in the same hotels and all that!!
ahhhhhhhhhhhhh it's nice to dream! reality sucks!
actually, i take it all back...i would LOVE to do the world tour with em, or even just a leg.....if i could have access to do a photo book of pj on tour. :ugeek: THAt would be a mega dream come true! of course, well outside the fantasy of simply $$$ not being a concern, haha...but your post got me thinkin'. always a dangerous thing. hell, i'd be more than happy to go down under - say hit up all shows in OZ, NZ, hawaii...and do a pj live photo series.........ahhhhhhhhh, dare to dream!
dimitri....you sure do a lot of thread antiquing.....;)
and i still VERY much like this idea...
pjbuckeye.....when i travel to see pearl jam i don't JUST see pearl jam, i spend some time in each place and explore each place....it's just a great way to plan a travel itinerary, and sure...always something cool to do each night.

I would tour a leg in the US if money wasn't an issue and I had no responsibilities. But that is never happening. But if I am going to travel to places with unique culture, I will embrace those cultures. Not even for an evening would I cheat myself out of the chance to discover something different in another country to do something that I have done many times at home.

differing perspectives....i have traveled a lot abroad, lived abroad....i don't consider seeing a concert in a foregin country 'cheating myself' at all. in fact, i think it adds a lot to the whole experience. doing something regular/normal with a whole new foreign culture, it's quite the experience! i've seen a bunch of concerts abroad, not just pj, and all of em definitely added to my whole experience/enjoyment of the culture.
that said, to each his/her own.....however, this thread obviously was all about the FANTASY of $$$ being of no concern and where you'd like to travel AND see pearl jam. that is all.
btw - i actually saw a pearl jam cover band in prague, all on my own, now THAT was quite the enjoyable/funny/different experience.
I almost would be more inclined to see a PJ cover band in Prague.

i was very fortunate and i DID see all 5 shows in italy (also saw em in london/dusseldorf/nijmegen).....pj even played MoTH in milan as i requested, in memoriam for my dad.....and traveling with friends - 2 from canada, 1 from italy, meeting friends from ALL over the world.....meeting/befriending soooo many italians along the tour, sharing the experiences with them, seeing so much more of italy, most especially places i'd not have ever visited otherwise (pistoia? never heard of it until pj, great little town!)......utterly priceless.....
someday i WILL get to australia and NZ, with or without pearl jam.
Seattle WA -- in a club like the off ramp or the showbox
Red Rocks - Morrison CO
places i would go to see them again
again at the spectrum in south phila pa (before it get knocked down)
again at the house of blues in orlando fl -- it was a very small place
again at the vic near wrigley field -- chicago IL -- another small venue
again at the blaisdel center in Honolulu HI (Aloha)
also a great little place would be in JIm Thorpe PA called Penn's Peak -- beers are only like $3 there -- also i only live like 30 min away form the place

Prior to September 9, 2005, I'd have said Thunder Bay, Ontario...but then I actually saw Pearl Jam there and, consequently, could quite happily retire from active concertgoing. Having said that, I'd love to see them at the new K-Rock Centre in Kingston, Ontario. Hey, Tool's playing there! Other than that, Portugal.
