AM-MTV: Actual music videos

Has anybody heard/read about AM-MTV? MTV is now going to start showing music videos, but only between the hours of 3:00 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. I wake up at about 6:00 a.m. every morning for work, and don't roll out of bed until about 6:30 a.m., so I've been clicking between MTV and the news, and I must say that music videos are ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE.
In the mid 90s I used to wake up to watch the Top 20 Countdown on MTV each week just to watch the fantastic videos. I remember watching videos by Michel Gondry, Mark Pellington, Johnathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, Hype Williams, Sophie Mueller, and the INCREDIBLE Spike Jonze (Weezer "Buddy Holly" for one). These people were rockstars in their own rights because they made tremendous art. And while most of them have found success making mainstream films, the music video genre has died because of shows like "Bromance" and "Tila Tequilla."
Newer videos are terrible. Yes, MTV is playing videos again, notably Kings of Leon, but the video is dull and boring.
They need to bring this medium back to art.
