Passing PJ News In Person = PRICELESS!

Internet has become the way of life for many, including myself. I cannot “live” without the internet as it has become the primary method of communication and activities for me – making phone calls, paying bills, communicating with the kids’ teachers via emails, researching for best deals or organizations/agencies, activism, and even renting movies – right at home.

But the convenience of doing everything online does not replace the human interaction – and you sometimes lose the real experience of seeing or feeling emotions with another human being.

Last Saturday, my sweet and patient husband drove me to the long meeting in Lansing with other activists/leaders and sitting through it.

I want to take the opportunity to show my appreciation to those who are involved in activism(s) and I especially appreciate those who are sacrificing their time and energy for the betterment of others, putting aside their personal interests and not seeking for self- recognition.

You have my utter respect – even if it is a cause I do not agree with. :)

Anyway, after getting home at night after a long day and about to get some rest, the kids had their friends over for a sleepover and were begging for rented movies.

I muttered at myself for not getting online movies a few days before for the weekend and drove the kids to the nearest movie store.

Upon entering the store, I spotted a young kid (maybe 18) working there – I had seen him three times in the past. Each time I had seen him, I had a different PJ shirt and he always immediately recognized them with a huge grin and thumbs up.

This time I didn’t and I knew he wouldn’t remember me because it had been so long and I did not have a PJ shirt on.

So I wrote him a note telling him to keep his eyes out on the PJ news and something about the upcoming tour. His face really light up and got really excited! “I’m going to put this note on the computer!” he says.

I laughed and said oh…Ten reissue is already out in case you haven’t already ordered.

He shook his head no and jumped up and down. “Brother!”

I smiled and gave him the thumbs up on my way out.

My husband saw my grinning face when I got home and asked what was up.

“I did my duty as a PJ fan. It was great passing the PJ news to this PJ kid at the movie store. His face and reaction was priceless to watch!”

guh, sweet story. I made my neighbor laugh, by slipping him Yellow Ledbetter tabs under the door while he was playing 2:00AM, he prob. thought I was going to complain about the noise, but ten minutes later I heard him struggle with YL and then he moved on to Nothingman! :) I still never even met this guitarist in person, I'm hoping he practices more
