Wow.. im gonna be totally serious right now. I was listening to Mike's solo from Hartford 08 during Immortality. And I closed my eyes, and I thought about something deep, something that I faced that was hard... and it put me into a dream state, colors and all sorts of faces from my past.... and the solo was playing over it... and like I snapped out of it when the solo was over, it was a weird.. yet amazing feeling. I literally tripped for a few seconds listening to his solo. When I knew it was coming.. I JUST CLOSED MY EYES TIGHT... and just laid down in my bed... and it was.. awesome. Crazy what Mike and this band can ACTUALLY do to you.

I love Pearl Jam.

yah man. the song wishlist always brings memories back to me, i listened to it alot when i was a little kid.
its interesting how the lyrics and music can be so personal to vedder or the rest of pj like with black but then you can relate them to your own life so well.

How old are you? Im 18... I know you are around there or some shit right? I think it's great that they have a large young fan base.

The connection is what got me into them, it's what made me get a tat of their name. What they do is amazing. They are a drug, a hallucinogenic.

Yah the connection is something hard to find with other bands. They the only one where I feel myself in the music.

Stay on the PJ drug. I know exactly what feeling you are describing, and it's the best in the world

it gets me SO irritated when my roommates blast their music, they ALWAYS play the same shitty hip hop music or techno or whatever. and they not only like listening to mindless, uninspiring trash, they also watch it; it sickens me how much they love so you think you can dance or biggest loser or other trash. i thought i had them on my side for a second when i heard them listening to iris by goo goo dolls, but they didn't understand the meaning of the song... *sigh* why can't there be more people my age with an appreciation for art :(
i feel bad for those who can't listen to a song and just be transported to a place where your heart hurts and you get chills just by hearing that voice or that riff. they're missing out on a wonderful drug :)

I hear ya. All my friends are into rubbish music, I'm the only one into meaningful music.
Pisses me off how my generation don't care for anything other than status.
All the kids these days want to be 50cent or a pill popping techno king/queen raver.

My daughter's 15 and into shit music, but she still loves PJ, the first band she ever saw live at the age of 9. :)

How do you know that the stuff they listen to doesn't give them the same feeling you get from PJ? To each their own, right?

How could gangsta rap possibly make you feel good?
It makes you want to go and shoot some other gangster.

I don't disagree! I'm just saying, different things work for different people. I think it's a ton of shit, but hey, maybe it speaks to someone with fewer than three brain cells or something.

Once I went to this club with friends for a birthday and they kept playing this techno music, it was the same ''music'' over and over, the exact same beats and sounds in a constant loop. That was the most depressed I've felt going out, I wanted to get out of there so fast. I don't know how that shit can make somebody feel good.

Exactly, don't the people that listen to this shit care to feel anything?
