Do you remember names of who you graduated with??

My friend is putting together our 11 year high school reunion (no one prompted a 10 year, so my friend decided to take the 11th year into her own hands). Well she keeps telling me everyone who's attending (I will NOT be)... she's spewing off names like I'm supposed to remember who the hell they are... and I have no FUCKING CLUE!!!

Am I supposed to remember these people? Is my memory bad?? Maybe I'm getting Alzheimer's :roll: :? ;)

    I graduated from high school 5 years ago and honestly aside from the few people I keep in touch with I wouldn't remember names of my graduating class. I mean hell I didn't even like most of them why bother to remember their names :p

    well let's see....right now i'm hanging with a friend from high school......and tomorrow, we're gonna meet up with a couple other high school friends :D

    i went to a small school and our class was pretty tight knit ;):D

    I graduated 19 years ago. I was actually surprised that I remembered people who were popping up on my classmates profile. I knew probably 80% of the names, but I highly doubt that I'll attend my 20 year reunion even if I do remember a lot of them. I'm sure it will end up being all of the people that I never hung out with in high school that will show up. Besides, I've not seen a single person I graduated with in over 16 years, and I'm quite sure that I'll have nothing in common with any of them.

    I remember most of them, graduated 9 years ago. I graduated with about 175 people though and most of us went from kindergarten through senior year together. The ones I don't remember at all now are the ones that only went to school with me for a year or two. I also have a really good memory when it comes to insignificant things like this.

    I actually ended up marrying someone I went to school with though and he barely remembers anyone.

    I actually do remember a lot of them. I loved high school and for a few years after I graduated I missed it so much. I don't think it was the people so much as the expected irresponsibility. When your in high school you can act like a complete idiot and society just chalks it up to stupid teenage years.

    I do keep in touch with my group of friends....well....Facebook style....so not really. :D

    but the 20 year reunion??? i dont think so...

    by the 20 year reunion everyone is pushing 40........ and who really gives a fuck how much money the other guy is making???........or what kind of house they are living in???....

    i went to my 20th reunion and i didnt hear one person asking about work or money or how successful anyone was.......

    actually....i had a fucking great time at my 20th............

    I skipped my 10 year cause it was bullshit from what I heard. I would consider going to my 20th.........maybe. lol

    I actually just hung out last night with people from my ELEMENTARY school (c. 1985)

    Haven't seen some of these people in decades but we had a blast! :mrgreen:

    I looked up my '01 alumni on facebook and recognized a sprinkling of names and a sprinkling of faces but only about 7 names AND faces out of a graduating class of 750.

    I went to a really big high school and didn't even know a good portion of the people when I was in school. At my high school graduation, I actually had to introduce myself to the girl sitting next to me. I had never seen her before.

    some. if i looked at pics i'd probably remember more.....and if someone mentions people i remember a lot. i just have that kind of memory though. there is not one person from HS that i keep in touch with. i went to an all girls private school and we all went to different colleges, etc......then once i left to study abroad for 1.5 years, that was that...pretty much lost contact with em all. now there are a handful of people from my past that i still see, still in contact.....but most childhood friends (not from school)...and a few from college. i've never gone to a reunion and i doubt i ever will. zero interest. however, every once in a blue moon i run into someone, and i always recognize em, and usually rmemeber their name.

    My 11 year reunion is rapidly approaching... and I'm getting facebook requests from people I never talked to or who never talked to me in high school.... or people I don't even remember. Ugh... I"m sure it's because I'm going back to my maiden name and now I come up as the person they remember.... this is a pointless post (as all of mine are) but i'm getting annoyed by this. :x

    She probably had to look them all up from the yearbook and then mail invitations. I only remember a handful, and it will be 10 years next year.

    Hate to bring this thread down but today I was at a childhood friend's funeral today. We went threw grade school together and high school. We drifted apart and lost contact with each other. He died July 1st and was married with a son. He was 31 and it still is a shock for me. :( Sorry everyone

    its only been 3 years for me since HS and im already forgetting people... if it wasnt for seeing names and pictures all the time on facebook im sure itd be a lot worse... dont worry about it!

    im not sure how im gonna feel about my 10 year reunion when it comes up... guess it depends how sucessful i am in 7 years :mrgreen:

    I decided not to go... and it wasn't cause I'm not successful ... more so that I don't feel like pretending I'm actually interested in hearing about these people's lives and what they've been up to.

    I decided not to go... and it wasn't cause I'm not successful ... more so that I don't feel like pretending I'm actually interested in hearing about these people's lives and what they've been up to.
    yah that would be my main thing... only really cared about maybe 15-20 people throughout HS in a class of 600-700 kids... and those that i still care about i keep in touch with pretty regularly... but i guess i still get a kick out of gossiping about certain people with old friends (thanks to facebook newsfeed mainly) so it could be enjoyable... definitely could just bullshit people... i think i just convinced myself to definitely go :D
