You learn something new everyday
Thanks! I love your name, btw.
lol for real?
I'm pretty sure it's french or more likely Latin ...I know a lot of people pronounce it how it's spelled... but I've also heard it as Re-do...like to do something again, only differently...
From Dictionary.com
Origin:
1650–60; < L: returning (as from war or exile), n. deriv. (with pass. sense) of redūcere to bring back; see reduce
they have the pronunciation as "ri-ducks"
The term has been adopted by film-makers to denote a new interpretation of an existing work by the restoration of previously removed material. This trend began with Apocalypse Now Redux, which Francis Ford Coppola released in 2001, re-editing and extending his original 1979 movie.
It has also been used by music producers to describe what is more often referred to as a remix.
it sure sounds as if it should be played backwards
"Doo do do do doo do doo, Doo do do do doo do doo..."

I probably deserved that......
seriously made me laugh...inside....i am at work in my cube, and it is eerily quiet today. :P
and i've always pronounced it 're-ducks' as well, never heard it as 're-do'....but then again, my french has always sucked, and i do believe it's based on french, not latin....but of course, i am no where near 100% on that. i am surprised how many did not know this word tho. :?
Let's just breathe...
I am myself like you somehow
